WOW! CONGRATULATIONS, KERI!! I am so encouraged by all the 'chatter' on this site!! We were evacuated for Hurricane Rita and without power last week, so no report. I did lose my 2 lbs that week, but it must have been the anxiety. Hurricane food is all the 'good' stuff that is prepackaged and non-perishable and by all rights I should have gained. Sooooooooo, I'll be happy with my stagnant weight which at this time continues to be 224.5......sigh!! And my mother is visiting......anyone know what I mean?? Eating keeps me sane and I don't yell at her. So, I have to figure out a different way to handle being treated like I'm 7 years old, 40 years later......... I'm 3 1/2 weeks post band and looking forward to my first fill and the return of real energy so I can start really working out. (That's gonna happen, right??) ;o)
-
Okay, so week two with the band means you start to get hungry and 'little bits' of mooshy food don't keep you full......hmmmm..... So I'm down to 226 this morning and I'm starting to struggle. Those cookie 'chips' look really inviting and I'm here to tell you I have hesitated splurging ONLY because I had to report in today! And a good thing, too. 2 more pounds!! Does anyone have an opinion if it's possible to keep up the 2 pounds a week thing? (Before 1st fill?) Have a YUMMY week, as I will on cottage cheese and blender soup! ;o)

So, Lynn, we all want to know how you're feeling after just 3 days. Is there a different thread to find out? Yay! A brand new Band Buddy..... I'm off to bed, but I'll check back tomorrow. Blessings on all of your sleep tonight......

Thank you, Lynn! OMAGAWD.......YOU WERE JUST BANDED 3 DAYS AGO! Today is my 1 week 'anniversary' and I'm starting to feel hungry. But, I am thrilled with my post op loss on the very small amounts of mushy food. How are you doing?

Okay, this is definately going to help me overcome the shy stuff.... I've attached a .jpg. Can someone shrink this for my avatar? Thanks! (btw....what's the secret? software??)

Hey, Cissy! I was at Dr Spivak's hands one week ago, this morning. You'll LOVE the nurses there......and DASHA & Tracy ARE GREAT!!! Ask me anything, it's all VERY fresh! My first week has been pretty easy, food-wise. The cool thing is that you don't have to do clear liquids!! Our prayers go with you today. I'll be watching for you in the cyber-recovery room!

Band VS Bypass - Why did you choose the band
Ariel2005 replied to a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Kerry, There is a surgeon in TX who does a seminar. He explains benefits and detriments of both surgeries. You can get his seminar on CD. Go to BANDMD.COM That being said, I concure with the ladies, GBPS would NEVER have been a choice for me. The band was an expensive, selfish choice. But, one that, long term, will help me take control of my habits, my cholesterol, my blood pressure and my future with my family. Without this 'leg up', I don't think I would see another 15 years. I intend to go to every one of my grandkids weddings. I don't think bypass patients have comfortable, healthy lives. Just thinner. Come on over to the band!! -
Daniela, I hurt for you in your time of darkest pain. We lost my mother-in-law several years ago and the pain had lost it's sting, but the emptiness will always be there. I was banded on the 7th. I hope you join me soon, I know your mother is cheering you on from her position of peace and fulfillment! Let me know when you are ready, I'll be here for you!! I pray for your heart, that your healing begin soon, that your grief be fruitfull and that you have a return to joy.

And where do I get to see the pictures that y'all say you have posted, but aren't on the message I'm reading?? Okay, I've gotta get some sleep. I'm still not 100% after the surgery and I do have to be at work early.... But I'm thinking about all my new 'secret' friends who are helping me feel positive about a new way of living. Thank you, all of you, and Blessings on your sleep tonight!!

Okay, the picture thing is a little frustrating.... I'd love to post one, I made myself take it, but I can't figure out how to make it small enough.... any suggestions?

So, here it is. I'm a REAL newby...banded 6 days ago. Lost 4 pounds pre-surgery and 11 since. Now, I know my body and it's going to figure this out quick, but I am really motivated to 'work' off this weight. So, my goal is 25 pounds for the challange. Who wants to meet me on the 'cyber-track'? Starting next week we can confess how far we walked on a daily basis.... Fall is a wonderful time!:Bunny I am really excited about meeting all my new 'secret' friends....

Hi, Corrine. I've been skulking and spying for weeks, getting the nerve to admit that this is my life! I'm ready. Can you point me in the direction of how to post a picture and a ticker? Where do I fill in a profile?
