^^This is awesome! Just friends, lol... To the OP- I never thought I'd be able to say no to all my favorite foods. Even though everyone said it's different after (just like they are all saying to you), I thought, well, that won't be me, they just don't understand how bad it is for me. It's hard to explain, but you'll understand when you get to the other side... It really is different. I need very little willpower to say no to the garbage I put in my body before surgery. I still don't LOVE all the healthy foods I am eating, but I'm just not all that interested in food in general. I can honestly say, for the most part, I eat for fuel now. It's crazy. I'm only 8 weeks (tomorrow) post-op, so I can't say what I'll feel like in a year, but for now, it feels amazing to not obsess over food. ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

Parmesan cheese crisps
ttdish replied to fatnomore65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love these. I saw you posted about them in another thread as well. I've only tried cheddar and Tuscan herb (which I wasn't crazy about). Have you tried all of them? Thoughts? -
I had a lovely 2 oz filet for dinner tonight, and I'm 7 weeks post-op. I cooked it in a cast Iron skillet to get a nice crust and it was medium rare. So yummy! Served with a garlic Parmesan spaghetti squash. My favorite post-op meal so far! ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

I second the Mr. Cheese-Os!! I found them at a super target. The cheddar ones taste a lot like cheez-its! ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

Questions for Alcohol Drinkers ONLY!
ttdish replied to Cape Crooner's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is by far the best thread I've seen on alcohol on here. I appreciate that there aren't any nasty comments (yet). Following.... ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~ -
Reasons for diet stages?
ttdish replied to helladoll's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon's plan allows for soft Proteins starting on day three (cottage cheese, ground meat, Beans, etc- very small portions, of course). He said he stays up to date with all of the latest recommendations in the bariatric community, and has been doing it this way for years with no problems. I never had a miserable week of clears or liquids, and no eating mush for weeks on end. I've tolerated everything I've eaten, and am now 7 weeks out, and basically eating like a normal person (only real restriction is that I'm eating low carb), just smaller portions. It has made this processes so much easier than I ever expected, and I'm down 45 pounds in 9 weeks (that includes 2 week pre-op diet). I am a big proponent for following YOUR surgeons recommendations, but just wanted to throw this out there to show how much the post-op diets can vary between surgeons. ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~ -
What's the best protein bar?
ttdish replied to densalrios@gmail.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got Pure Protein bars at costco, and I am not a fan! Yuck! I just got them to keep in my diaper bag, for if I'm in a pinch, but I think I'm going to return them. ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~ -
When I talk to people about my surgery, I find myself constantly saying things like "it's so bizarre," or "I can't really explain it," when it comes to questions about hunger. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that I rarely experience hunger like I used to. I sometimes feel "empty," and I know I should eat, but I don't feel much desire to eat. It's such a welcome change from constantly thinking about food. I never thought I'd be someone who could actually eat primarily for fuel, and not for pleasure. ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

Parmesan cheese crisps
ttdish replied to fatnomore65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mr. Cheese-Os (I found at Target) in cheddar taste a lot like cheez-its! I didn't care for the Parmesan ones, had a funny aftertaste, but I thought I'd share! ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~ -
I was allowed lettuce at one month, and other raw veggies at 6 weeks. I was so excited to add them back in, just for some more variety! Unfortunately, after I eat my Protein, I don't have much room left for salads or other veggies yet, but even a couple of bites have been wonderful! If you had told me two months ago I'd be excited about salad, I would have called you a liar! ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

I have PCOS, but I can't share much, as I'm only 7 weeks post-op. I'm following this thread, as I'm curious about others experience with PCOS. ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

Weight gain in first couple days after surgery ?
ttdish replied to Dub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's why I made my husband hide my scale until I was one week post. I didn't want to be discouraged by a gain (even though I knew it would be fluids), and instead was thrilled to find I was down 9 pounds at one week post op! ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~ -
No three week stall... When?
ttdish replied to ttdish's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Still no stall for me, now at 6.5 weeks. I even made it through my time of the month with a loss, and I felt super bloated. The bloat is gone, so hopefully this week will be even better -
I just hit four weeks post- op, and managed to avoid the dreaded three week stall. I'm thanking my lucky stars for that, but I'm not an idiot, I'm sure it will happen eventually. So I'm curious... For those of you who didn't have a week three stall, when did you see your first stall? (Side note: I do realize that others experiences have no impact on what mine will be. I'm just curious.) ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

I'm six weeks post op, and I started a YouTube channel two weeks preop. I'm 32, with 120 pounds to lose. I'm down 40 so far, so I'm a third of the way there! I'm hoping to also start a blog, to share progress pics, recipe reviews, etc. It's been fun documents my journey so far! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BUWHFM5ZSiU ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

You should be able to tolerate swallowing them whole before too long. They wanted me to swallow them whole in the hospital, but couldn't get them down that soon. Within a week or so post op, I had no trouble swallowing them. I hated crushing them! Ewwww.... BUT, I was told it's ok to have a spoonful of applesauce just to get the crushed pill down, even on the liquid diet (my liquid diet ended the day I left the hospital though). ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

Cookbook suggestions
ttdish replied to LMolina1987's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can get a free PDF version of "Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook for Dummies" here: http://www.edu12345.com/fujian/shu/jfsssp.pdf I've mostly used Pinterest, but I found this a while ago, so I share it whenever I see a question about cookbooks. ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~ -
I had to bring mine. Don't worry about while you are sedated. They will keep your airway clear and keep you breathing. I stayed two nights post op, and I needed it for those nights. ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

Costco has edamame pasta.

I used the barimelts Calcium (it's ok, a bit chalky), and the barimelts D3, which actually tastes good ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

Did a stupid thing last night, scared myself
ttdish replied to Margie122's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All I can think is.... Why were you looking in the night stand?? Lol.. Glad you are feeling better though ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~ -
I like the edamame pasta I got from Costco. Tastes pretty similar to pasta, and has 24 G protein per 2 oz. I can only eat about half an ounce, but it's a fun way to get some veggies in.
-
I feel you. My nurse told me to get 64 oz to feel good, but getting 40 will keep me out of the hospital. So I force myself to get at least 40, but very often don't get much more than that. I like Water too, it just feels like a chore to have to drink so slowly. ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

Try Isopure clear fruit flavored Protein drinks. I have to Water them down, or they are too sweet for me, but otherwise they remind me of kool-aid. I'll drink half of one (for 20 G protein) with water when I need a protein boost. It's a nice change from the shakes, and you are getting protein and plenty of fluids. ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

I'm surprised you can have Powerade zero, which has sucralose, but not Splenda, which is also sucralose. How are you trying the sweeteners? In coffee? food? How much are you using? How far post op are you? You might just need more time. ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~
