    I'm getting leg cramps in the middle of the night. What are you doing as far as nutrients? I know there's a list of veggies and fruits online but I'm afraid to try some due to dumping possibilities with the RNY i.e oranges (orange juice), cantaloupe, raisins etc.

    Thank you all for replying. My lab work was done 1 month out and showed iron deficiency. I have since changed iron supplements per doctors orders. He didn't mention anything about my other levels and I didn't ask about my leg cramps because I thought it was just me. It wasn't til later that I found out it can be a potassium deficiency. My water intake is low and I need to work on that. I am currently drinking 24-36 oz a day. I had no idea dehydration can cause it too. :/

  9. Good afternoon. I am almost 5 weeks out and still eating 1/4 cup of soft foods and drinking 1oz every 5 mins. Most days I eat 300 plus calories and on others 700 somehow. I've been at a plateau for about 3 weeks now which I am not concerned about. I do worry though about how to increase my caloric intake? I am eating about 50 grams of protein and drinking about 30-40 ounces of water. I feel stuffed as it is and don't see how I can up it without stretching my new pouch or by keeping healthy eating? How do you keep up?

    Thank you everyone. Jess, yes I still drink one a day. I can't to more because they gross me out now. I'm fine if I take one early but if I drink one in the evening it's torture. Kate, you mean more as far as ounces per day or at any given time? Esskay that's what I was doing all this time, focusing on Proteins and Water intake. Then I kept on reading that calories need to be increased in order to lose weight. Since I had a stall for a few weeks it threw me off and I started to think that was the reason why. I'm glad to know that I'm doing it right.

  16. Niki I am losing 1lb about every 2-3 days. It's slow but I'd rather have it that way. Gives our body time to adjust and hopefully have less loose skin.

  18. I had the bypass on 8/4/15 and had my 2 week f/u yesterday. My doctor still wants me drinking 1oz every 5 mins and eating 1/4 of a cup. I drink all day long with the exception of 15 mins prior to eating and 30 mins after. I drink an 11oz until protein shake until I'm finished following these guidelines. With meals I eat 1/2 teaspoon every 8-10 mins making my meal last between 30-40 mins. I haven't been able to finish 1/4 cup yet. By the time I reach my last portion or so I ask myself if I still want it out of hunger or just because it's there and I realize I am satisfied so I throw it out. My main priority though is still reaching my protein and working up my water intake. Hope this helps.

  22. I'm 10 days out and too tired to do much. I walk from the couch to the kitchen and have to pause to catch my breath or gain energy to go back. I do find some days are better than others. I also started driving my teen to school this week and the walk to the car is fine. Yet from the car, up a flight of stairs to my apartment is so draining that I am literally panting by the time I get to the door. Pain and soreness is still there but are getting much more tolerable. Overall I think it gets better each day. I start on a multivitamin next Tuesday when I start my 3rd week so I hope to see some improvements. Hope you feel better Niki.
