I've been battling weight since 8 years old. I was never really bullied for being overweight. However, I was always fine for the boys/men older than my age group. As a result, I didn't see my weight as a problem. My ex-husband made me feel so ugly about my weight. From then on, I just ate. I ignored the weight gain until I ballooned to 445. I went to my son's weight room and couldn't believe the 445 lbs before me. Time went on and following Hurricane Katrina, I started going to a gym and managed to lose about 60lbs. Life and stress brought those 60+ lbs back in 2015 along with severe feet pains. I decided enough was enough. Here I stand fully aware of my past. VSG is a tool not a miracle to help me tame the demon of weight. I realize I will be engaged in a battle. I am aware that the war is viscous and others have won and loss. I am willing to fight.
