Hello all and congrads! Don't remember how I found you, maybe though facebook. My weight kept creeping up after I became severely ill in 2000. Saw every Dr there was for over 6 years and no one knew what was wrong. I shook and was so very week. When it hit me I actually lost my eyesight a few seconds. I'd just finished training at a new job and fought to work for 5 years being out on STD a lot. They finally let me go. Dr's started putting me on depression med's and I wasn't depressed just very sick. Now I know they all had weight gain side effects & hair loss too. I was too sick to notice the hair until I went for a cut. My gal has cut my hair over 26 years now. She said oh Sandy, your hair is so thin & it was always thick. I chalked it up to age then I started looking and saw it. I searched the net like mad and zilch. So I'm concerned about losing more and that mine won't grow back because I've already lost so much. Had a friend that never had this surgery eventually go totally bald on top. I never said anything until I ran into her again and all her hair was back. I mentioned mine. She said take biotin so I looked it up. It said after 2 weeks the body will come back & hair loss will stop and it did. But after taking it awhile it stops working. I'd skip awhile and go back. Now I've lost much more, I now take 2 pills 20,000mg a day. Scheduled for surgery Dec 2014 but canceled by the hospital 36 prior. My insurance & hospital were parting ways as of 2015. Without after care lined up, Dr wouldn't do the surgery, after all I went though. But it may have been a blessing because my new Dr is Awsome! he is one on one w/his patients and mine is put off because he's going on vacation and does no surgeries 2 weeks prior in case a patient has issues. Bummer I have to wait longer but thankful he cares that much. Having the regular by pass because I have acid that's so painful people don't believe it. BP went up the day I had the first visit w/the first dr. Been on BP meds for almost a year now and hope to dump the acid med's soon after. Starting at 265 because I quit smoking I gained a ton. Only 5'4. I want to get out of the car not roll out. I want to cross my legs again. I'm all stomach & butt. And a great one it used to be. I guess after I loose it it'll be saggy but whatever. Now I'll be almost 57 when I have surgery. At times I thought why bother now? but if I'm still alive I have to be able to function. I do not want high sugar and all the other things that come w/being over weight. Thankful to find your site. Trying to learn my way around. I'd like to hear what you felt like after surgery, after you got home, how long until you could bend over again. All the things to expect. I know everyone is different. I cannot handle pain like the old me. But I'm ready to do whatever it takes. I see many have reached their goals and many are still on the losers bench. Going down? yeah! can't wait to be on the losers bench.
