Not quite 2 weeks post-op and stalled?!
jennysayscheese replied to kndoster's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had the exact same thing happen to me. My doctor told me because of the liquids and low calorie count as well as surgery, my body was in starvation mode. He told me.Once I moved on to eating food and getting more nutrition, my bodybuilding be shut down and I would start seeing results. Three days later, the scale has finally started moving down! Give yourself some time, it will eventually happen. I tell myself this, too! -

I went to school and lived out in PGH for a little! But I am Lancaster county and live in Lancaster city. It's about an hour and a half west of Philly. I hate the humidity! Makes my hair all crazy and I sweat like no one's business. Hard to look presentable! You should definitely start using the pool. Water fitness is excellent for losing weight and building or toning muscles! You could also get some hand weights and go on YouTube for workouts you can do at home. Once you find something you like, or dislike the least, it gets a bit easier, I.think. it's just a matter of making it a habit, which I am still working on. I might always be working on it lol. I know what I don't like, though- a lot of.jumping around! Everything bounces, including my brain. Nope, not for me.

Well I walk 1.4 miles to work and then home every work day. That really helps! I work at a hospital and they have a free gym for employees, nothing big but it's enough. I do the arc trainer there....kind of like a stepper/walker. About to do my weights, as well as get into a little yoga. I really like the PiYo program from Beachbody, but i have to look for my dvds. It's a mix of yoga and Pilates and is a great, customizable workout. Hiking is a lot of fun, just take enough water and don't do anything too strenuous your first time. If you're just getting started, my suggestion is start walking. Do some workouts that are strength based using your own body weight. The only reason I keep going to the gym is.because it's at work so I have no excuses. I was terrible when it came to getting out of house and going to a gym....but that's just me. It's incredible that you lost so much just with changing your food and intake from surgery! You will get down below 300 fast once you take it to the next level. I'm excited for you!

K you watch it and then tell me how it is! Lol Topic switch for a min....what exercises or.physical activity have you found the best and most enjoyable that has helped you lose weight since surgery? I have never been athletic or gotten a high from exercising, but I am working on physical activity being part of my normal routine. I get bored easily. If my body moved like my mind does, I d be a string bean. But alas, I am trying to embrace sweat and all that.

It seems like it will be good! I love sci-fi, too. I confess I usually avoid movies made from comics, though I know not all have been bad, or what I would consider not good. Did you happen to see the new Mad Max? The effects look amazing but I wonder if it's worth seeing. I give pause to remakes or originals that first played within the span of my lifetime.
-
Me, too, compared to years ago. But I am content. I just went and saw Southpaw in the theater. Typical boxing comeback movie, but I liked it. And I started watching sense8 on Netflix today. See anything good recently? I never win money gambling so I rarely do it!

You're welcome! So what kind of things do you do there instead of the superficial crap LV is known for?
-
Ps, congrats on all the weight you've lost! Keep up the great work!
-
Sin city! No wonder it is difficult to find someone, I imagine serious relationships aren't wanted as much as.....well....everything else. I've never been to LV, unless you count the airport!

Hi Daveo- as someone who has been single for awhile and comfortable with it, my suggestion mirrors that of others in here: concentrate on falling in love with yourself, first. Learn the joy of being alone and find things to fill that alone time with that you like. Even if one of those things are naps! For instance, I've reading and cooking. Now, while I really love to.cook for another person, I have found enjoyment in cooking for myself, too. I will even go see a movie alone if it's something I really want to see. I don't let my singled prevent me from personally experiencing fulfillment and.happiness. of course, it would be wonderful to find that other half, but in the meantime, I am working on myself and keeping an open mind and heart. Be the person you want to find. You know what I mean? Putting out those good vibrations of energy will bring you to your place in life, or bring that place to you- when you are ready for it, or when you and that other person on in sync. Does that make sense? On a personal note, may I ask where you live?

how to reset your metabolism with excersize and food?
jennysayscheese replied to leeann71's topic in Fitness & Exercise
A good natural supplement that I have used to help.my metabolism is chromium. You could try adding that to your daily regimen, along with some of the other suggestions posted. I personally find that walking does a great deal of good!
