Hi there. I haven’t been on this forum for a while. Everything that you’re feeling is normal I’m right there with you. I had revision surgery six months ago due to severe Gerd and I can tell you that I am not hungry and I eat because I need to or I’m bored. I have a delayed sense of fullness but is nothing like the sleeve. My surgery was in May and it took months before I even felt that. I do have to be careful because once the fullness does hit is miserable. Even then it is nothing like the restriction that I felt from my sleeve. The valve is gone so it’s all about receptors at this point . Keep watching your portions you know what you need to consume get your protein and eat some veggies and drinking water . I was never hungry with my sleeve either. I hope that helped.

Sleeve to Bypass for Reflux
Smallbites2015 replied to hayyouljkb's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hi everyone glad to have found you. Happy New Year. I am six month out from sleeve to bypass for severe GERD. I am still learning what this little tummy likes. Unfortunately dumping is frequent and nausea when too much carbs/sugar. My biggest frustration now is not having a trigger of when I am full until it’s too late and then I’m miserable. I just don’t feel the restriction immediately like I did with my sleeve, it’s more of a delayed reaction so I am having to pay more attention. I can say I have lost the 20 pounds I put on so that is a plus. Still have high blood pressure and had to change my meds around since no more long acting meds allowed but my cholesterol is normal for the first time in 7 years! And yes GERD is gone. I feel a little heat with spicy food but it quickly goes away. A plus to this surgery is I can eat salad again! -
We get massive hormone dump with the weight loss..changes are expected, mine are still extremely heavy

I'm seriously thinking dehydratin. That can turn into a medical emergency really quick !! Drink as much as you can. Did up you call your surgeon? Consider ER Visit...

Can't meet fluid intake
Smallbites2015 replied to regina1966's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Set a timer, I had to..only way I could keep up -
I waited my year, and yes it hit faster. Didn't feel great afterward so probably won't have often. Wouldn't drink in public not knowing how I would react. Keep to a few sips and be done Might want to reconsider how important is is since if I'm reading right you are only a few months out

Becoming vegetarian after surgery.
Smallbites2015 replied to tony031469's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hated meat at first, it just made me too full no matter how little I ate. I kept trying. Switched to chicken thighs as the breast I could't seem to get down. Beef still not that Great. I eat maybe an ounce of meat at a time because it feels me up so fast. I considered myself a vegetarian for a while after surgery but stopped when I could tolerate meat. I was tired of Beans and the carbs were freaking me out!!! Couldn't do eggs either, but no problems now... I have an eggs steamer and love the texture a bit better than boiled. If it doesn't work for You at first , put it Sade and come back to it later. -
Any nurses/medical workers have the sleeve done?
Smallbites2015 replied to john925's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm an RN and manager for busy case management department. Took 4 weeks and would have done one more but I was stir crazy. The tiredness kicked my butt that first two weeks back, but I made it. I pretty much came home and passed out. He time off helped me get through the eating stages with time to adjust. -
Hi there I just wanted to check and see how everyone is doing. I have about 25 more pounds to goal. I am not as strict with myself as I should be ... Just broke a three week stall. Down over 120 lbs now... Labs ok Vitamin d low, every thing else ok Flabby skin on arms, thighs, belly. But oh well flap on!! I still can't eat a lot, and my acid reflux can be a beast. Nexium once day helps Still have at least one Protein shake a day...struggling with Water The journey continues.

Anxiety about being almost one year post op
Smallbites2015 replied to venomousflowers's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The time passes so fast it's been a year for me now and I'm still not done losing. Your weight loss is great . If you've gotten off track take a deep breath and start over. I've gotten somewhat lax but I added my Protein shakes back in and trying to get my Vitamins . This tool is still there just let it work . I realize where my issues are and I have to do better -
Getting sick of protein shakes--literally

Smallbites2015 replied to awillaweigh328's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unflavored Syntrax is my go to. I also love the Syntrax Naturals peach and orange are my favorite Also Syntrax nectars...fruit flavored protein!!! I got tired of the other two sweet Protein shake that I was drinking -
I got one in my pre op classes but I haven't used it. I don't order and eat from my husbands plate if we go out to eat

All food tastes bad now.
Smallbites2015 replied to cindyam1957's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It gets better. Focus on finding things you can tolerate. Smells still sometimes get me but it does get better. -
Can your sleeve be stretched?
Smallbites2015 replied to cuchas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon told me no and said he removed all f the stretchy part of my stomach. He reminded me that is why I here up if I overeat. No place for it to settle. -
So far not much for me and I am almost at 7 months . I try to get in my Protein and added Great Lakes Hydolyzed Collagen... One in green can. Got on Amazon I found some articles that it helps with hair loss and it must be. Can't hurt and helps my joints too. My shedding seems to be like it was pre surgery and not much more although a few times seemed to pick up a little. Still keeping an eye out for it though. Hope that helps

HAD AN EPISODE WITH A BOILED EGG
Smallbites2015 replied to Kaishek's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes happened to me. I can tolerate them now. I have an egg steamer and like the texture much better than typical boiled eggs. Same way with chicken and my pre op Protein shakes but still can't tolerate those so I stick to my unflavored Syntrax. Chicken in small amounts and has to be moist. My biggest issue now is leafy greens...nausea and likely vomiting if I eat them. Bummer Keep trying and revisit later. Experience may change. -
How is everyone doing?? I am struggling to get my calories in Protein so so, Water not all the time. Not down as much as I want but I'm working on getting ok with that. My clothes are loose but I sure don't want to spend money on clothes that at way too big. Already down a size so I'm good . Just checking on you in this journey of ours. Have a good weekend and holiday

How long did it take you to notice?
Smallbites2015 replied to MickeyMax95's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was all of a sudden. Yes my clothes are smaller but one day I looked in the mirror and I was like WHOA! Pictures do help too. I am 4 months post op now and it gets better everyday. -

Having a period right before surgery?
Smallbites2015 replied to Lexigurl82's topic in The Gals' Room
Mine started day before surgery. I was embarrassed but mesh panties and a pad I got. Not the most fun but thank God it was actually pretty light and mine are really heavy. Don't cancel just get it done and move forward -
Best (unflavored) protein powder
Smallbites2015 replied to Skywalker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had Unjury at first but smell and funky taste made it bad for me. I switched to Syntrax unflavored and I love it. -
Congratulations to you I just hit 2 months and I'm trying to get all my Water, Protein, and food in and that seems to be a full-time job . I do feel better i'm just frustrated I can't seem to get enough food and there's not enough hours in the day !!! I'm down almost 50 pounds, down almost 2 sizes and . I had to back off exercise because I wasn't eating enough but other than that I feel great. Keep up the good work

Is this normal?3 weeks out from surgery and main incision still hurts
Smallbites2015 replied to Comicbookguy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Totally normal. I'm 2 months out and if I overdo it that incision lets me know it!
