Well tomorrow is my big day. Looking forward to moving on. 5:45 am show time. Feeling pretty good tonight.
-
Congrats! Glad to hear you are doing well and no horror story from you. My week has finally arrived. Getting sleeved Friday so I hope I have the same recovery results that you have had. Here's to a continued successful recovery for you!

So a couple weeks ago I told my adult kids my decision to have surgery. Today I told the rest of my family. Brothers, Sisters, Stepfather, Uncle, and Aunt as well as a couple very close friends. To be honest I was expecting a lot of judgement. So far is has been nothing but support even from those that I was sure would judge me. I have the full support from everyone that means anything to me. I’m so grateful that I won’t have to hide this from the ones that count. I was so afraid of them judging me that I didn't realize that I was judging them. Now I find myself asking "How long have I been judging them?" Perhaps many of the bad feelings I've felt towards some members of my family were ill conceived. I think if's fair to say that most of us "Fatties" feel that we are constantly judged and scrutinized by the "Normies". And I still believe that it's true but probably not to the extent that I thought. Is it possible that most folks are too busy in their normal day to day lives that when they see a "Fatty" they don't think twice? That they have more important things to think about than me? Why do I feel like everyone is staring at me and judging me all the time? So I ask you .... Who's judging who and who are you judging?

Babbs I'm with you. Dr. Wiener is awesome. Best WLS videos on the Internet. -
John VDB that's awesome news. There's hope for me! Good luck sir.

John VDB: Sounds like your co-morbidities cleared up pretty nicely. If you don't mind me asking was your diabetes advanced far enough that you were taking insulin? I'm hoping to get off insulin and get down to just taking a pill. Of course if I can get rid of both that would be a bonus!

This is all very good news. My wife will be pleased to hear about this. I think I'll add sex to my fitness routine once I get sleeved.
-
Trev I gotta ask. Why did you make your goal weight 200 instead of 199? There has to be a reason not to go for one more pound. Good luck on the 4th. I'll be 9 days behind you.

You are doing great. I'm also 5'10" and was hoping to average about 10 lbs per month which looks like you have achieved. One month to go till I get my sleeve!

I'm 5'10", 300lbs, 54 years old. Type I I diabetes, high bp, high cholesterol, severe sleep apnea, loosing flexibility and scheduled for August 13th for VSG. I started second guessing myself but reminded myself that I did the research and weighed the benefits and risks and made my decision based on facts. Decision made so now it's time to focus on the job at hand. Keep looking forward!

Best protein shakes!
Dave_2.0 replied to alisawoo22's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like the Premier chocolate shakes. Haven't tried the other flavors. My favorite right now is the Gold Standard vanilla Protein powder from costco. 1 scoop protein 1 tablespoon sugar free vanilla pudding 1 tablespoon sugar free vanilla syrup Little bit of ice and blend. You have to experiment with your blender to get the texture right. I have a vitamix and blend on variable 6 for about 1 minute. Turns out nice and creamy. Cheers! -
