I ordered the sample package too but I didn't care for them. The chicken soup flavor was just ok. Seems to me that a lot of people do like Unjury so I would get the sample package to see if you like it and what flavors. I haven't had surgery yet but so far I like Premier Protein.

When I read about having a VSG I read that you want to eat 3 meals a day no Snacks. Then I read in the Big book of Gastric Sleeve some healthy snacks to have. Reading about others GB or VSG and they eat snacks in between "meals". How do you get all that in plus your Water that you're not supposed to have while you eat? I haven't had surgery yet, but I'm trying to read all I can. I'm just confused if you are supposed to eat in between meals or not. Help.

Finally I went to my WLS introductory seminar that's required by my health plan (Kaiser). Next I have to wait for my PCP to give me referral to the bariatric program. I did notice the health educator was really pro bypass. The guy next to me and myself are wanting the sleeve. It will be interesting when I get to talk to the surgeon to see what he says. Kaiser does offer the sleeve but I think it's a newer procedure for them. At least I'm on my way and finally getting the ball rolling.

Praying that you can have your surgery soon.

I haven't been sleeved yet, but I did get a yeast infection on my abdominal hysterectomy incision. Had to put Nystatin on it. Also, I tend to get a rash just like this under my breasts due to heat and rubbing from my bra. I use a RX of Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide cream. You can ask your doctor if it could be a type of yeast infection. I hope it goes away for you. Me, I'll be glad when the hot summer is over!

I haven't had surgery yet, but I'm preparing and starting to eat better. I just started to take Centrum adult chewable Vitamins. It has Iron in it and it's making me constipated. After I have the sleeve I don't know how much Fiber I'll get in. I'm worried about constipation. Is it ok to take Miralax in Water from the get go after surgery? If I can swallow stool softeners is that ok? The stool softeners are little pills. I know after taking narcotic pain meds and no food plus the iron in the chewable vitamins, I can see a real problem of constipation. Advice please.

I'm new too. Don't get to go to my informational meeting until July 17th. I found a lot of great information on this website and I did purchase Alex Brecher's book about Gastric Sleeve. The book also has a lot of information.

I want to hurry up and get started with this!
quiltermom65 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm wanting gastric sleeve surgery and have done so much research online and watched numerous videos. I love the videos. Problem is I have to wait until July 17th just to go to the weight loss surgery orientation class even before my PCP will refer me to the bariatric group. It's killing me to wait. In the meantime, I have gone off soda, coffee/caffeine for several weeks now. I bought a new Water bottle and I'm practicing getting my 64 oz of water in and not drinking from straws. I really have the urge to start back at the gym but I want to make sure I'm in the bariatric program before I start to lose weight. Is that dumb thinking? I'm at a 45 BMI now and I don't think going to the gym will really make me go down to under 40 that soon. I just want to make sure I'm approved to be in the program. I'm so bummed I have to wait until July 17th, then I will email my doctor to tell her I went to class, then she will refer to bariatric program. No other classes are available at my hospital until then. I also ordered the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury starter pack to try the different Protein powders and just bought myself some Centrum chewable Vitamins. Since I have to wait to get started, is there anything else I should be doing? Ugh, waiting is hard! -

I have Kaiser in Sacramento. Luckily all my records are in one place. I think I will email my PCP to see if I can get some other appts going in the meantime, that's a good suggestion. -
Bad Breath/Taste in mouth-sleeved June 22

I haven't been sleeved yet, but would the product Biotene work? When my daughter went through cancer/chemo she would rinse with Biotene to help with dry mouth. It helps moisturize the mouth. -
I'm new here. I'm 49 female. BMI of 45, 5 ft 7 in. At first I wanted a lap band but now I think I want a gastric sleeve. I have to wait until July 17th for the orientation class before my PCP will refer me to the bariatric surgery office. I do have an HMO that covers surgery. Thanks for all the info I'm getting from these forums. I'm very anxious to get started and can't wait for the class on the 17th. Wish it was sooner.

Psyc appt, what are they looking for?

Have to wait until July 17th just for the WLS options/info class before I even get referred by my PCP to bariatric surgery. I have Kaiser in Sacramento CA. I know I'll have to go to a Psyc appt. What are they looking for? What type of questions do they ask? -

Thanks for the information. I feel better about it now. It sounded so scary. -
I used to be one of those that said I would never resort to WLS and it was the "easy way out". Well, I'm here on this forum eating crow. I'm wanting WLS myself and learning all about it. Within the past 2 weeks that I've been doing research I've learned that it's not the easy way out, that there is still a lot of work to it. I'm glad that it's a tool that will help jump start the weight loss so that seeing some loss will bring on more motivation to exercise and eat right.
