Dr. C. is my brain being affected??
tztmama replied to FunnyDuddies's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
In the 80's I took a health class in college and our instructor told us that being in "ketosis" (little or no carbs) negatively impacts the brain and can give you leg cramps. -
My doc said that getting tighter restriction from flying is physically impossible.

Ditto..........don't like her, she is arrogant and she may have been better off spending her money on therapy/social skills training instead of weight loss...........okay, maybe both, she sure could afford it. I still think she isn't very "easy on the eyes"...........the surgery did nothing for that big ass head of hers.

Okay ladies.......I can't help wondering if there is a correlation between loving oral and being overweight. A new study says only 24% of women actually enjoy it. Hmmmmmmmmmm..................its good, filling, pretty much calorie free and with the right "circumstance" can be protein rich......NO WONDER WE LOVE IT! The PB thing.........if he is that "productive" I'd be taking double birth control pills.........LOL!!!!!!! -
Chicken and bread are definitely out for me. Funyuns I can handle and have them once every other week with no problem. Not a good food but when I was having problems they were the only thing I could eat that wasn't sucked through a straw.

I didn't really get any comments from collegues at work until I lost 45-50 pounds. I think sometimes people don't "see it" until you are at a weight "they" approve of. I wondered the same thing------why hasn't anyone noticed? Then I thought "maybe cuz I'm still not at my goal". I don't know. What happened on your vacation would bother me..........I say put up some pics so we can give you feedback.

scary thought........."we don't know if any of us will have our bands in 20 years"..........so true though. I could never afford a new band once I retire.

Anyone experience back pain with the band? (Please stay on topic)
tztmama replied to Anthony's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have chronic back pain (for about 3 yrs). It was usually lower so when it started to occur in mid to upper back I just figured it was due to my condition. However, the pain intensified and I was put on lots of vicodin and soma (muscle relaxers). They help. I went through physical therapy twice, multi visits to a chiropractor, and accupuncture. Mainly, I just think taking vicodin on a regular basis is good for me or my "pouch". Then I got sick from the band being too tight. I got a total unfill and the upper/mid back pain just about ceased entirely. I haven't even taken pain meds for a few days now and thats a first for me for quite some time. How is your food consumption? Now I have 3cc's less on my latest fill and not as much restriction so I'll have to wait and see how this works out. Having too much restriction isn't good either. I am 25 pounds away from goal so for now I'm going to try to get some exercise in and eat like the doc advised me too. -
This happened to me a few times. My doc gave me a complete unfill and then refilled me a few days later. The last time it happened was last week. I was in intense pain, vomitting up foamy bubbles and unable to keep even water down. Never wait to call your doc if you can't even keep liquids down ----- it will only get worse and you don't need to suffer like that. I got so weak it was hard to even walk across the room.

I sometimes take vicodin and soma for back pain. I chop the pills up quite fine and then swallow them a few pieces at a time.

I tell anyone who asks how I lost weight.

What kind of protein dink is everyone drinking?
tztmama replied to willybe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just type in cambridgediet.com and a website comes up that will give you all the info on the product. I am in the process of becoming a distributor but still have paperwork to do. For first time buyers they have a good deal on 1 months worth of the product. They give an extra can of the powder and also a variety sample of the nutrition bars (if you can have that). I have used it off and on for about 3 years and have been using it religiously since I was banded last Sept. -

Cambridge! It is sooo yummy when blended with crushed ice. I even prefer it to a regular milkshake! -
Kelly, Thank you so much for having the courage to share your experience with us. Many of us will have similar surgeries and I really appreaciate your post. You look awesome!!!!!!

Hey fellow bandsters, I haven't been online for a couple of weeks but am having some problems. On 1/4/06 I got a fill, 2cc's. Having had little restriction, I got big restriction that has somehow become too much in the last week or so. My symptoms: I get "burpy" with even one swallow of my Protein shake. If I take 3 swallows of Water, some of it doesn't stay down Gas x isn't helping and i have gassy pain throughout my chest and back. Feels like its in my lungs althought I know it isn't. I PB almost everytime I try to eat solids. The only thing that I got down last week was a chocolate shake. My mother passed away on the 9th of this month and we burried her yesterday. I don't know if the stress has caused my stomach to become more sensitive or if I just need to get unfilled a bit. I have finally started losing weight, 20 pounds since my fill in January so I am glad about this. Not being able to keep water down scares me though. Please give me any advice you have. Thanks in advance. Darla

I just received a statement from my insurnace company and they were charged $75.000 for my lapband surgery. It was totally laproscopic, it was done at a surgery center as opposed to a hospital, i was only there for a few hours. My surgery was done in California. My portion of the bill only amounts to around $3,800 but still. Has anyone ever heard of the surgery being this high?

I had a hamburger and a few fries on my way home from getting my 3rd fill. Mainly, I wanted to see if I could eat it. Once I hit restriction though, no more of that.
-
Normal, normal, normal. Wait until you have enough fills to be restricted, then it will happen.

The main ingredient in Trim-spa is "hoodia" so I ordered stratight hoodia over the internet. It is crap. No results. I do not believe that woman lost weight with it. I would say GB AND speed.

sure, dawg.

I did it for a year. Lost a little body fat, very little weight, even with dieting.
