Oh, also. I started a year ago with going in to urgent care with back spasm. It is hard to "see" back spasm but having documentation that I'd had so many problems with it made my request for surgery look more urgent.

Try another doctor and say whatever it takes. I think of this as saving my life. Would I exaggerate the truth to keep from dying young and hurting all who love me? You betcha!
-
What part of NM are you all from? I visit twice a year and stay in Ojo Caliente by the Hot Springs.

OMG! We have been through hell, haven't we???????? We are sooooo lucky and blessed to have found the band and then doubly blessed to make it happen in our lives through our individual blood, sweat, tears, hard work. This is truly a weight loss site but it is just as much an emotional healing site. Damn, I'm an Indian, I think I'll go burn some sage and bless us all through prayers and offerings!

Thanks HarleyNana, You are right, I feel like I can eat and without the restriction I guess I wasn't thinking about what culd be happening that I can't feel. This helps. It's weird, but just like my other addictions, I must be reminded of what I forget I know. Thanks.

I screwed up tonight with my eating but on the other hand, I must say I have been banded 11 days and have lost 10 pounds!!! Now thats incentive to get back on track!

Congrats and welcome!

Thanks so much for the support. I will start anew tomorrow. I guess that I'll just have to be a bit more patient with myself. I didn't pursue a surgical operation because I have the best willpower in the world. Restriction will come, you are right Karla. Thanks so much, this y'al are the best!

I guzzle water. I sip my protein shakes.

Thanks, I am 11 days post-op and should be starting mushies on Monday. I did okay until today. Tomorrow is another day but it is scary because i said that every night as I put on 50 pounds in the last year. I am so looking forward to my 1st fill!

I was a fat baby but thinned out until about 2nd grade then was fat until started using speed at about 14 years old. Fat again after baby at 19 but lost alot and weighed my thinnest at 124 pounds. Gained with birth of my sons at age 28 and 32 but lost the weight each time. After entered perimenopause I started putting on weight even while jogging regularly. I was up to 226 when I went for surgery last month.

The chips are adorable. I will now begin my 30 days, 3 meals a day, 1 bedtime snack at no more than 100 calories.

I'll say a prayer for a speedy recovery for you. What an ordeal, you must be exhausted. It sounds like the fill has been a good thing though! Keep your chin up, this too shall pass. -
I was banded 9/26 and I am barely now approaching mushy stage. I figured 3 times a day or 6 half portions. Also, I take into consideration the amount of calories my body can take and still be able to lose weight.

I have a little half mug of regular coffee mixed in with my vanilla protein powder in the morning. I saw someone write about only having decaf. Is regular ok?

I haven't noticed. I sure do salivate if I talk about pizza, though! HA HA!

I'll sing, cheer and dance for you here in San DIego! Congrats on the awesome news and enjoy the journey back to the real you!!!!!

My body does the same thing. I always gain 2-5 pounds when I begin to exercise!

I was so nervous the night before and the day of................I had mine at 3:00 in the afternoom so I had plenty of time to think........................one of the doctors (actually the band guy) came out into the waiting room and reassured me, he told me I'm a beautiful woman and deserve to have a happy, healthy life. Everyone was really nice, the receptionist but on several videos about the band and peoples' success stories. YOu are doing the right thing and all will be well! Congrats!

Here's to our lovely OCTOBER BANDSTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was banded 9/26, 10 days ago. I have been on protein shakes and broth (and 1/2 cup low carb yogurt once) ever since. I am getting weaker and now feel even shakey. I know I am supposed to go on mushies Monday but I think I really need to eat something. I have to work and my students are not the easiest bunch (teens with emotional issues). Does anyone know if there are rules and guidelines to mushy foods? Anything that I can puree? or ??? Thanks.

Round of applause has reached SAN DIEGO, CA.................Awesome, Michelle!

with 3 servings of my shakes I get 51 grams of protein and 550 calories. It is weird because I use Cambridge shakes and a few years ago was on three shakes a day for 6 weeks and never felt like this. Maybe my body is still healing from the surgery. I just feel so tired even after getting a good nights sleep. Oh well, it'll pass I am sure. Teaching is such a tap dance, especially when most of the kids have ADHD and can't have any "down" time. I love my kids and my job though and am grateful for both. thanks all.......see i' m too tire to even capitalize............lol

You go, mama!!!! Knock 'em dead!

I'd better stop reading this thread, I'm getting "band envy"......LOL
