I haven’t been here for awhile. A couple of years after my surgery, I thought I was good and didn’t need any help from anyone anymore. Boy was I wrong! I lost 100 pounds. In the past 2 years 45 pounds has creeped back on. Now I’m back and ready to focus on losing (again). Any tips to reboot my system? Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I was sleeved in July and HAD PCOS for years and years. Since my surgery (and 95 pounds lost), my doc said it looks like PCOS is gone. My periods are regular. No more cystic acne. I haven't taken metformin or spirolactone since July!

I'm hearing I'm taking the easy way out from family and friends
nilamji replied to Protea's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told close family and a couple of friends. As people notice my weight loss and ask, I tell them I had surgery. The surgery is not an easy way out. I work hard every day following a new way of eating and exercise. The surgery helps me see progress and not get discouraged. -

I pour mine over ice. The ice dilutes the shake, makes it less sweet, but not too watery.

I'm 3 months out and noticed my hair has started to thin. I've upped my protein and started taking biotin. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's a short falling out period.

Hair Loss and Vitamins
nilamji replied to Colleen Rothberg's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 11 weeks out. I keep thinking I see a thinness, but my husband says he can't tell. But I'm ok with thinning hair to be healthy and skinny. Plus, I've heard that it's temporary and as time goes on, your hair will become thicker. -

Funny, my girlfriend and I were talking about husbands today. We decided marriage should be similar to cell phone contracts! You have a husband for 2 years. At that time you can decide to upgrade to a newer model or keep the one you have. But after the 2 years, you can upgrade at any time. ????

@@joatsaint thanks for the recipes! I'll try them this week! I love yogurt! And cheese and lunch meat. Those go down easy. Believe it or not, before surgery I was a huge egg-lover...now I can't eat them! My doc told me to 'listen' to my body. Eat as much Protein as I can, but don't push it. It's funny, I'll sit down to eat and be HUNGRY! But after a few bites, I'll feel done.

I just got my Fitbit last week! Would love some friends Nilamji@hotmail.com

I'm 8 weeks post-op. My doctor wants me to be eating 3-4oz protein per meal plus 2 servings of veggies each day. My issue is that I hate eating the protein! I chew and chew and chew, take small bites, and it still goes down funny. Anyone else have this problem?

9 Months Into My Journey (With Picture)
nilamji replied to GreenEyes604's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You look great and are an inspiration! I was a tight size 20 when I had my surgery 8 weeks ago. This past week I was feeling a bit down on myself. Now I'm ready to keep on with my head high and my eye on the prize! Thank you!
