My dad and step-mom are totally against it. They just think I need to stop eating and exercise. If only it was that simple. Hang in there and just make a decision what is best for you knowing the risks that go with that decision. I'm going Mexico for my surgery.

See that's what I am so confused about. I have looked all over the Internet and have not run across a Dr. Altamirano or the previous post Dr. Hidalgo. How did you guys find your Doctors. I am currently leaning to Dr. Louisiana Valenalzuela because I found her at Mexico Bariatric center she seems to be very qualified and will only do 3 surgeries a day. Also I asked the Facilitator if they were referring a family member who would they choose amd he said DR, V without question. I haven't found any negative about her, so that's where I am at. Thanks for your replies PS I am down the street from you in Cedar Park Wow, yes we are close. As long as you are comfortable with your decision, then you are good. I could not find one bad thing on Dr. A and have heard a lot from people who had surgeries from him, that had very little complications. I also watch his Utube videos and they made a lot of sense to me. When are you having surgery? I'm planning on August 11, 2015. I also felt comfortable with the hospital where Dr. A does his surgeries.

I'm going to see Dr. Altamirano. He is very nice and the support group is great. I did a lot of research on him and does fantastic work.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. You are right, I have to follow what I know I have researched and not listen to people who have done zero research.

This weekend was very difficult. My father and step-mother think I'm crazy for wanting to go TJ. They brought up drugs (cartel, infections, lack of skill of surgeons etc... I would counter and even showed them information that differed from what they said. There are so many people that get the surgery and are doing great. There are doctors in the USA that are not good either. I like the doctor that I choose and the support group is great. I'm just going to do it and never talk to them about it.

I think the insurance will cover the a plane ticket to go back and see the doctor. The downside, if you are not able to do that due to unable to travel.

I see the insurance has different amount of days. I am assuming the number of days is the number of days you are in the hospital?

Dr. Altamirano has out standing reviews.

I would try to see the doc. May be nothing, but for your peace mind, I would insist on seeing the doctor before leaving.

Went well. Did not have a lot of questions because research a lot. Next step email Henry I believe. Looking at August time frame. Did you have the surgery?
