I write about things I'm proud I did that day, related to weight loss and not. I also write about things I want to work on and challenges that day. As far as challenges go, I write why I feel it's challenging. Usually that takes me something I really have struggled with and helps me get to the root, especially with weight loss. And then I write goals for the next day, and once a week, bigger goals, and once a month, even bigger goals. But they are always measurable goals. That part is important. And not just "I want to lose 'x amount' of weight." More like - "I will walk 'x amount' of miles this week." Or "I will go to the gym 'x' times. And I always try to include other goals non-weight loss related. Keeps me positive! It also keeps me accountable. Just like keeping a food log, but for your mental health!
  4. I've lost 39 in 3 weeks. But I have A LOT to lose. 200 lbs.... Well, now 161 lbs. ???? but- So scared of first plateau....

hey there! How is it going for you? I'm almost 2 weeks down now! Seems like longer but also seems like it's just a short time too. Weird like that! I feel the exact same way! I will be a month out as of Wednesday. I feel like my surgery was a lifetime ago! But at the same time I feel like it was yesterday. Have you had any complications? Seen success? I am thinking it is probably a good thing that it is feeling like it's been awhile because it's become part of me and my new "normal." Perhaps that means it really has been a life style change. I hope at least for me!

You have a date! That's exciting! Not going to lie- the two week liquid diet is hard, especially the first few days. But after day 2 or 3, I got in a zone. I journal, and I think that helped me the most. Before my two week shake diet, I had to do 2 months of a keto diet. I think that was harder because I was still allowed to eat! Taking the option away was easier for me at least. I did have a "last meal" before the two weeks of just shakes. I sure didn't tell my surgeon that though! ???? You are so close! My fiancé and I were just saying, the whole pre-op process was so stressful and at times, nerve wracking. But it has been much less stressful in the past week for sure and for that, we are thankful! I haven't had complications thus far and hoping to stay that way. Has your doctor required anything else besides the two week diet? Is it a liquid diet?

Bostonhopeful- that is hilarious!! I didn't have any trouble on the BMI issue. I was more than qualified :/. My good news for today- since Monday of this past week, I lost 19 lbs! Granted, at least 12 of those were water weight lbs from the IV fluids. I retained a lot of water from the hospital.

HappyValleyHappy- I know what you mean! My fiancé took me to run errands yesterday (still not cleared for driving) and I went to two stores and then fell asleep in the car! Mornings are best for me, as far as energy goes. I'm feeling good today, except for some minor back discomfort from the way I'm having to sleep. I am frustrated that I am not seeing the scale budge much. Maybe I'm being a little impatient! Trying to stay positive!

will be thinking positive thoughts for you! It is so frustrating waiting on insurance. It feels like they are the judge and jury of your wellbeing. And then it's very unceremonious when they approve you. Like, "yeah... You're approved. K... Next." Definitely sending you positive vibes!

. I do know the feeling! I was so anxious in the last month! I kept worrying about everything that would keep me from having the surgery or of course, what may go wrong. Staying busy helped for sure. And reading that other people were feeling exactly like me! It is great to know you are not alone! Great to have you as a buddy!

Awesome! Congratulations! To me, recovery has seemed so much easier this time in some ways, and harder in others. Maybe because I already knew what kind of pain to expect but there hasn't been a great deal of pain in my abdominal area where the actual surgery was performed- just soreness. But the most of my pain was in my lower right side that the doctor said was coming from my back. He said it was probably from the unforgiving hard operating table. That being said, I was in the hospital 5 days, but when I was banded I didn't even stay one night. To me it was so much better staying in the hospital those first few days. And maybe that's why my pain was so much less! I had a pain medicine in a pump I could administer every 10 minutes! Overall, recovery has not been as bad as I thought it would be. I'm pretty lucky though- I'm a teacher and am on summer break. If I get tired, I can take a nap and have been able to take it easy. Glad to be your buddy! How is your pre op going?

Thank you! Congratulations to you too! I was so anxious during the pre op process. Waiting is hard and the diet made days go slower for me I think, especially when I had to do my two weeks of shakes. But worth it! How are you making out?
  15. Thanks! Better to be safe anyway I guess. I tried the ricotta and marinara blended for lunch and it was yum!! Everything is tasting so good. Even yogurt flavors I never really cared for before. Since being on liquids for so long, it's all amazing!
