Sleeve on 7/29 (or close), how are we doing?

That's great! Maybe try to break it up into a few walks throughout the day. Every bit helps.

    24 hour post op misery

Get up and walk, that will help the gas go away. If you can't get out of bed yourself, call for a helping hand. But definitely walk walk walk it'll push the gas out.

Sleeve on 7/29 (or close), how are we doing?

Are you doing any sort of physical activity? If you are staying mostly sedentary that could affect it, or you may be shrinking and just not having the lbs come off. Up your activity and see what happens

    How long out of work?

I was out of work for 3 days total. Had surgery on a Friday and returned back to work on Wednesday. Zero complications for me.
  5. I have a high pain tolerance but I went in still thinking I was going to feel like I was hit by a bus. The only pain I experienced was the night after surgery and the following day from gas pains trying to escape my body. Other than that, I had minimal discomfort and was up and about the next afternoon. I was surprised at how well I did. I felt like a rockstar. Now to continue this positive outlook

    Lactose intolerant help

I've been lactose intolerant since birth. I stick to almond milk or soy if almond isn't available. And in the case that something may have lactose in it, there are lactaid pills which help a lot.

Sleeve on 7/29 (or close), how are we doing?

I start stage two after 2 weeks. So this coming weekend I'll start easing into them. I'm taking it slow to avoid any complications and to get the maximum weight loss. I don't want to ruin this lol

Sleeve on 7/29 (or close), how are we doing?

I was sleeved on 7/31 and I am feeling fantastic! I was feeling great the day after surgery and have had zero complications so far. I walk a lot, am getting 60-70g of Protein a day. I'm just working on upping my calories since I'm on the low end still and trying to drink as much Water as possible. I'm on Protein shakes and broths mixed with unflavored protein. Not sick of them yet, I'm stocked up and ready for my puree stage. Looking forward to a little more sustenance.

    May I get some advice?

lots and lots of Water and stool softener for me. I went from 2-3 BM's a day pre-surgery to 1-2 every few days.
  10. 5'7 250lbs I was size 16/18 237 current I'd say I'm probably 14 refusing to buy new clothes for the first two months.
  11. I went through BariatricPal and was sleeve in TJ a little over a week ago. Everyone and everything was amazing. Very impressed and very very well taken care of. My surgeon was dr. Jesus Lopez at the Santa Fe clinic, if you want more info feel free to PM me.

    Any advice for "itchy" incisions?

I rub lightly or tap on my incisions and gently scratch around them. It seems to help me.

    Phentermine

I took phentermine back in 2005/2006 that was my first of many weight loss drugs/diets/whatever. I loved the way it made me feel, so much energy. I jogged probably 3miles 4-5 times a week and I ended up losing about 60 lbs in one year. I was on it for probably 4-5 months. I was in the best shape of my life for a few years then I had a hard personal blow that caused me to be an overeater and I gained everything AND MORE back. I've looked into trying to get on it again, but it's so hard to get. I've done every fad diet, taken all those "miracle weight loss pills" and nothing has helped. Thankfully I'm scheduled for a life changing surgery next week and am looking forward to a new healthy future and a new me without having to pump myself full of drugs to lose weight.

    Woman question!

I'm glad I stumlbed across this! I was wondering the same thing. I'm currently a 40 DDD and I'm *hoping* they shrink as they have with past weight loss. They are just too much for me lol, I have constant back/neck pain and will be happy to see the girls shrink as I shrink.
  22. Oh gosh what don't I watch? I just finished Weeds for the umpteenth time, I've watching Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Doctor Who, Grey's Anatomy more times than I care to admit. I'm about to start X-Files soon!
  23. I love this FAQ! It helped answer a lot of questions. What is the general rule on fasting prior to surgery? 24/12/6? I'm already on a liquid only diet, but do I need to fast without my Protein shakes for a certain amount of time?
  24. What site are you going through? Are you having it done in Mexico? I've done everything through communication/scheduling/talking to Md/Nut through BariatricPal's team. Although it can be slow communication at times, they have been very great at helping with any questions. Also different doctors have different requirements.
  25. I'm having surgery on a Friday, coming home Tuesday and plan to return to work on Wednesday. Call me crazy lol, but all I do is sit at a desk all day, I mean I'm definitely up and down some, but no real strenuous activity other than carrying a few papers to the copy machine. If I can't handle it I'll go home, I eventually told my boss what I was doing so she is very supportive in my recovery. I'm just completely out of vacation time since I just had a big family reunion and used the majority of what I had. I've heard of others returning to work right away after a surgery. I think each person heals different and so ultimately it's how you feel and whether you think you can tolerate it.
