Questions for the LADIES
FluffytoFab replied to DogRescueGal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didn't have a period per say but the break through bleeding before (had the Mirena for 2 years before surgery). I did have bleeding for surgery due to the amount of weight I lost in my pre-op diet. The more you loss, the more estrogen your body releases and you could end up with the bleeding. Hope that helps. -
Questions for the LADIES

I have the Mirena and haven't had any problems with weight loss. Once a month, I will have slight bleeding and will drop about 10 pounds that week. I had thought about taking mine out to prior to surgery, but am glad that I decided to keep it. Hope that helps. Good luck on your journey! -

6 weeks post op I want to be down more
FluffytoFab replied to KLEE12216's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't get down on yourself! I am also 6 weeks out and "only" 30 pounds down. I have to remind myself that this is a journey and you will get to your goal. One thing that has helped me is to walk. I got a Fitbit and my goal is 10,000 steps a day. Then as you build up your strength, you can start adding more and more. As for food, you are doing better than me. I can only get my Protein in with no veggies yet. Good luck! -

Week 3 post op & only lost 3 lbs this week - is this normal?
FluffytoFab replied to Athenyx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for all the posts! Makes a girl believe that this journey isn't for nothing. I am a little past three weeks out post op (surgery Jan 25) and I haven't seen a loss in over 10 days! I know that it is part of the 3 week stall, but still so upsetting. I am hitting my liquid and Protein intake everyday, as well as taking all my required Vitamins. I just wish that the scale would move just a little bit to show that what I am doing is so worth it. -

I'm Jan 25 - and don't have to start my pre-op until Jan 18. I have started giving things up this week - pop, sweets, etc - to make it a little easier. I hope to keep my anxiety in check and not get shingles this time. I was set for Oct 2015 and had to reschedule - so fingers crossed that I stay healthy

I have been second guessing myself, too. Both my parents have had WLS and I have seen the positive results but I am worried that I will fail at this. You have to remember that this is a tool and that you have the power to see this through by using the tool since you have already taken the first step. That first step is the hardest. Use this site, as it is a wonderful support system and they have your back. Good luck in your journey!

I am new to the site and am thankful for all the advice for WLS. Here come the but...After reading all the positives and negatives, I am so nervous now to get the sleeve, even though I have been approved and just waiting for my psych evaluation to be completed to schedule surgery. I have done WW and lost 60 pounds but gained it all back during my last pregnancy and move for my husband's job. Being an engineer, I was able to succeed on WW since I made it a game of counting points. I am ready to do that with the WLS, and understand all that comes with WLS - both my parents have had it done. But I am worried that I will gain the weight back and be a failure like I did previously on WW. I don't want to got through with this surgery if it means that I impacted my family in a negative way. (changing food habits, life style, etc) Did anyone else have this fear before surgery? TIA for all your advice!

A reminder of why...

I totally understand on how you feel! One big reason I am doing this is for my two little boys - I want to enjoy activities with them without feeling that I am being judged for being a "flufffy" mom! Good luck -

Anxiety overload
FluffytoFab replied to RNsleever715's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am glad that I am not the only one that has these feelings. I am in the last stages of approval from my insurance company and then will be able to schedule my sleeve surgery for the end of August or early September. I am scared that I will screw this up and end up right back where I am right now. So, thanks for sharing!
