    Vomiting....need help!

Ok everyone. I am not on this website often but I joined awhile ago becasue nearly every question I have--someone else has asked and you guys have answered. I got banded in Atlanta on July 27, 2007 and was at 267 the day of surgery. I'm now at 237 as of this morning--which in my opinion is a lot, but not the 1-2lbs my surgeon said I'd lose. Anyway, I am throwing up almost every day. I can drink liquids like they are going out of style and I can keep some foods down--but today I had refried Beans and nacho chips--chewed very very well--and about 10 minutes later I was in the bathroom tossing up my Cookies. This happens with a variety of foods. My questions are: 1) Is this going to cause my band to slip and 2) how often do the rest of you puke? It's really unpleasant. Sometimes if I gulp Water that comes up violently, too which is weird because it's only sometimes. Can anyone help me on this and share their experiences? Thanks!:huh2:

    Unpleasant Question

Ok everyone. It's been a few weeks since I've been here and I'm sorry for not participating more. I was banded on July 27, 2007 and so far have lost 45lbs which I am thrilled with. I actually bought pants off the rack for the first time in 8 years. So far I've had some throwing up (my own fault) but last weekend I had a bout of throwing up (after not throwing up for a long time) that was more related to the food not agreeing with me and man, it was BAD. Since then (it's been about 4 days) I have had gas so bad that by the middle of the afternoon--I can barely stand up. I know no one probably wants to hear about it--but I'm also dizzy and nauseous at times. When I get into the tub and lie on my stomach, it feels like there is a ball in my intestine. I can tell that I am still restricted because I ate a piece of bread (small piece) and it went down like everything else bready goes down--rough. I'm not nauseous all the time--and I have ZERO heartburn. Any idea what it might be? Does anyone think that what I ate that didn't agree with me is still lingering in the intestines? I'm wondering because I feel fine in the morning...just more tired than normal. Help?

    Unpleasant Question

Oh good God no I am not pregnant! I can see how one might think that though....but it would be the second coming of the Holy Spirit if I were. LOL.

Anyone with BC/BS Illinois ever approved??

I have BC/BS Illinois and I live in Alabama (my work's group policy) and I got denied--and denied on appeal. My BMI was high enough, I was over 100lbs...and I have no co-morbidities. I was told by the phone rep that if only I were a bit sicker--or heavier. (Yes, I'm serious.) They said I needed more of a 6 month diet and exercise history however, I've been seing doctors about weight loss and been on every diet known to man (all documented) since 2002. As if my weight gain popped up in the recent 6 months and somehow the next 6 months of doing the exact same thing I've done for 6 years prior--would be the magic weight loss bullet! So, I got a Capital One loan and wrote it off my taxes. I had my surgery in July of 2007--and after losing 30lbs....my surgeon's office accidentally billed my insurance for a "fill"--and guess what? They paid for the office portion--but not the fill. Go figure.

I think I have found my home ;)

The service is crap--I had my band last July and so far it's been a real pain in the butt. On the day of my surgery--they forgot--literally forgot to prescribe me any pain or nausea meds. 10 minutes after surgery, my clothes were tossed at me and the nurse said, "Get dressed." Seriously.

    Vomiting....need help!

You seem like you've done really well...and have had your band less time than me. How often do you exercise? Any favorite foods I should try?

    Vomiting....need help!

Ok, that was what I needed to hear. When I hover over the toilet all I have to do is bend over and it comes up--thick, mucous and what I just ate. My surgeon said that she didn't think I got the same restriction as everyone else because I can still (after 5 fills) get a lot of food down. Which I think is weird. Anywho....I think I'm doing a combination of what you've said. Thank you so much for shedding some life on my issue.

    Adult ADHD and Banding?

I am going in Monday to find out if I have ADD. As far as I can remember back I have been unable to comprehend what I read--as if a thousand thoughts are crammed into my head while I'm trying to read something. When I had to drop out of my master's program because I couldn't do the reading--that's when I knew something was wrong!

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Hey everyone. I'm new to this site. I had my lap band surgery on 7/27/07 and so far I've lost about 25lbs. I'm definitely NOT losing the 1 to 2 lb a week like I should be. Is anyone else having this trouble? Also, does anyone have any tricks or secrets to this whole thing? Any exercises that seem to help? I'd like to start running like I did in the military (many MANY years ago) but I think I'm too heavy. Help help help!
