Your experience eating sugar after bypass
kjnrose replied to MozzaWehsha's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I do better on tiny bits of sugar than I do on the fake stuff. I do have issues with fruit juice though, especially orange juice. I've never passed out, just feel tired. -
kjnrose started following Calorie intake, Your experience eating sugar after bypass, I can't be the only one that can't stomach protein! and and 6 others

I can't be the only one that can't stomach protein!

I couldn't do the shakes either. I try to do as much meat/beans as possible and I do carnation shakes with Fairlife milk so I get Protein in two ways. Also, egg white shakes are ok, the All Whites website has a bunch of protein heavy shake recipes. -
My nutritionist help set my goal.

Yeah, Like orange juice or any fruit with natural sugars in it.

I had the Bypass surgery in June, since then I haven't had any problems with eating little bits of sugar, now it makes me really tired and feel like I'm going to pass out. I've never been diabetic and my blood sugar is usually about 80 or so fasting. Is it possible I'm now diabetic or is this normal?

Not tolerating protein shakes. Thrush. Nausea

You can also use liquid egg whites to make a shake. I do mine with egg whites a little sugar and frozen fruits, much yummier then Protein shakes. -
What u use to make scrambled eggs

I use olive oil in one of those cans that you pump and it sprays. I also use a little ghee sometimes. -
I make egg white shakes. If you get the liquid all whites, it doesn't do too bad, definitely better then the Protein shakes. You can look at the all whites website and they have a lot of recipes for shakes.

Hi, I had the RNY surgery on June 23. I've lost 50lbs since then, but now I seem to be at a standstill. Is this normal, should I worry about it? I haven't lost any weight in over a week so I'm worried now. I do know my appetite is a little weird right now because I've been on antibiotics for a month.

I am 9 weeks postop

I get more than enough fluids, I drink 64oz plus

I'm supposed to get in 60-80gr of Protein and I usually hit about 50-70 a day, so I'm good with that. I just worry about the fact that I'm not losing much.
-
I haven't been able to get ahold of my nutritionist, but I'm 2 months our of surgery and not losing much. I'm worried I'm getting too many calories even though I feel like I barely eat. Any ideas on how many calories I should be taking in? TIA.

Yeah, I make sure to chew a lot and slowly. I had it happen yesterday after two small bites of fish, and it took me ten minutes between bites because I was talking. I have an appointment to see the doctor and see if we can figure it out, luckily I have a surgeon that's big on quickly getting people in.

Every time I eat something that's not pudding or in the clear phase I get pain in my chest and have to force myself to puke. It's not food I'm puking up either, it's like an egg white consistency, clear Fluid. Anyone had this happen?
