  1. Smaller clothes, mine are too big again. [emoji6]
  2. Everyone is different of course but I never felt the need for the baby utensils. I do use smaller plates and bowls though because there's no need for the full size ones with the small amount of food I eat. I did make sure to have premiere premixed Protein shakes on hand and I had ordered some protein chicken broth from Amazon for the times when I couldn't handle the sweet of the shakes. The sugar free Jello and popcycles help when the need to feel like your actually eating something comes. The best investment I made was a good quality kitchen scale. I am about 14 months out and still weigh everything and probably will weigh everything before eating forever. Best of luck to you. High weight: 376 in 2011 Surgery weight: 319 on 9/28/15 Current weight: 150
  3. I am just over 14 months out from surgery and I average about 900 calories a day. I do about 70-80 grams of protein and I keep my carbs as low as possible but make sure to never go above 40 grams of carbs (I try to stay under 30 most days). I have been fairly steady in my weight loss and only have had two separate weeks where the scale didn't move. 1600 calories is very high in my opinion. You may want to try to cut out carbs or cut them down to shake things up with your system.

For some reason it didn't add in my picture in the other post.

    Over 300's

I was 376 at my heaviest weight. I lost some then went for surgery. On my surgery day I was 319, that was September 28, 2015. I am at 151.2 today at 14 months out from surgery. I want to get to about 140. Below is the most recent comparison picture I have, it was from October I think.

    IBS and sleeve

Before surgery I had horrible IBSD and had bad stomach days 5-6 days a week to the point where I had a hard time even going out with my family or friends due to the pain and all. Since surgery i have had only maybe three bad stomach days, and even with that it only lasted a few hours and not the whole day. My surgery was 14 months ago. I have said more then once that even if I hadn't lost any weight the surgery was worth it for the relief I have gotten from the IBS. I will say I have seen posts from others who have not had IBS improvements, but for me it has been a miracle.

    Looking for mentor or buddies...

Hi there. Welcome to the sleeved world. From the stats you listed it looks like you are already doing great on the pre-op side so I am sure your gonna do great once you have surgery. I was sleeved 9/28/15 and have lost 167.8 pounds since surgery and 224.8 pounds overall. I am happy to answer any questions you have or try to help you along the way.

    I have a dent

I had a dent as well, it was where there was an internal stitch. It went away in time as things healed inside.
  10. I was, that was the only issue that my surgeon wanted to make sure to get the extra clearance on. Everything has been great and I am healthier then ever.
  11. They said I had a bundle branch blockage and my surgeon just had me do a follow up ekg with my primary dr and it was showing that it was not worse then the first ekg so they cleared me and I have been perfectly fine. They said many people have it their whole life and never know. I was told to not worry about it so I don't. Now if I start to have painful heart palpations someday then I'll go get checked out.

    Goal weight?

I am 14 months out and am about 15 pounds away from my goal weight. I hope to reach it by the end of the year. I started at 319 on surgery day and am at 152.4 now.

    Bypass or sleeve?

For me I chose the sleeve because I didn't like the idea of my intestines being moved around. My issues with weight were due to the volume of food I ate for the most part and so the sleeve was ideal for me to help me with portion control. Now at 14 months out from surgery I can eat more then I did right after surgery but I make sure to always measure out everything before I eat and still stop as soon as I start to feel full. I never go over my 3/4 cup volume of food that my NUT recommended.

    Sassy comebacks?

I don't get it either. A few folks knew I was having the surgery last year and there is one person who asks a lot of questions which is ok but one day she just out right asked me what I weighed. I just gave her this shocked look and said well anyway.... And changed the subject. Folks are nuts sometimes.
  15. No I don't at all because when I see those pictures all I think of is how uncomfortable I was in my own skin and how fake of a smile I was putting on for the camera when inside I felt like I was dying.

    Overeating

Measure everything. I am 14 months out from surgery and still measure everything. 95% of the time I will automatically portion out the exact portion amount by site but I still measure it to be sure it was right.

    Tilapia recipe?

I do mine with just a bit of olive oil in a skillet. I season with McCormick salt free garlic seasoning and a bit of Cajun seasoning. When it is almost done I put about a tablespoon of grated Parmesan on it half on each side and cook till done. The parm almost gives it a breading feel without adding any breading to it. It is very good. I eat it a few times a week like that.

    So excited, NSV!

    Thank you!
  20. So today I actually bought my first pair of size 8 pants, and they fit!! I have never worn anything with a single digit size in my life! I was at a 26/28 at my biggest. The pic below is my biggest pants compared to the pair I bought today and the other picture is my 13 year old son and I both in that same biggest pair from the other picture.

    Having an oh $h!t moment

I use my counter top George Foreman grill a lot. It is super easy to cook small portions on and takes no real cooking skill. Just throw on some lean meat a little veggies and seasoning and let it do till the meat is done through.

    I'm too Fat

In April of last year I had to make an emergency flight from Nashville to Orlando and I did the same thing. Hid the belt under a magazine so the flight attendant didn't see it wouldn't fit. Now I am between a size 8-10 so that is one less worry if I ever have to fly again. So thankful I had this surgery!
  24. Great post. You have been one of my big inspirations through this and so I am glad to see your still going strong.
  25. Same here. It was so unappealing before. Now it's becoming a staple. If strange colors don't bother you, you might want to try it with a little hot sauce instead of black pepper. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I may have to close my eyes and give it a try! Lol
