I agree, it sound like the dr is getting a kick back from the sales of the vitamins they are pushing. My dr (who is through Vanderbilt in Nashville) reccomend a flintstones complete twice a day, chewable calcium citrate 3-500 mg a day and that's it for now. I also take chewable Biotein by my choice. There is no need for a slew of extremely expensive vitamins. I may add b-12 a bit later on. My total for a 90 day supply of all mentioned is about $50.

Well that stinks. Just curious, why can you not drive yet? I am still pre op but my dr and paperwork says driving is fine after I'm off the strong pain meds.

Your PCP should know so that they know how to treat you properly if you get sick like with prescribing different meds etc so that they don't interfere with your new stomach. My surgeon requires a visit post op with my PCP within two weeks of surgery.

DonnaC1, did your NUT or DR ok those? That it what I was taking too and I had to change because they don't have iron in them and that's very important to have.

Mine said up to the 15 day wait for ins approval as well but I was approved in less then a week. The ins lady at my surgeons office said that most it's companies will give an answer in less then the 15 days. Good luck to all!

If your having a sore throat with it you may need to take to your dr about acid reflux and get put on something for it so it don't damage your esophagus.

I would not do it, I tried taking that stuff for a while a few years ago,and it made my heart race, and after a few days it felt like my body was buzzing and I couldn't sleep. It can have some bad side effects.

I too was blessed with a fast process, my first consult was July 9th and I was approved by the first week of September and I'm getting sleeved on the 28th of sept.

Mine says all liquids including protein shakes and even soup counts.

Well I have just one visit with my regular doctor now and we will be submitting to insurance for approval for the sleeve. I have no doubts that this is what I want to do because I need to lose this weight and finally win this battle. I want to gain control over the hunger feelings. I am a bit nervous, scared and relieved all at once that this may finally be within my reach. Most of all I am grateful, grateful to have the opportunity to get the help I need and grateful for the encouragement that I've seen people on this site give. I am more of a lurker so far unless there has been something I can personally attest to in the pre op side. I look so forward to the day that I can be on the post op side to share photos and give others encouragement as well. ????

I have been wondering about the pure protein, it meets the requirements my NUT gave. It's less then $20 at Walmart and I've seen coupons in the paper for it.

Today I got the call that my surgeons office is sending my file to the insurance for approval. I haven't been really nervous at all through the process till now. I'm praying for a quick response from the insurance because this whole nervous thing doesn't work so well for me. ????

I have been in an abusive relationship in the past and that is what you are in, like many above said that is emotional and mental abuse. I don't know if your kids are boys or girls but you have to look out for them in this, they will look to him as their role model of how a man is suppose to treat a woman and if your kids are boys that is how they will treat their girlfriends or wives one day. If the kids are girls then chances are that is the kind of man they will end up settling for because they grew up thinking that's normal cause that's how daddy treated mommy. If he is truly sorry then he needs to do counseling to get to the root of his problem if not then you may need to consider life without him because you and your kids are worth more then that.
