  1. Same here! I told my mom that it is sort of like a bad breakup where I can't stop going through old pictures!

Where in Indiana are you from?I live in New Palestine just east of IndianapolisI live in Pendleton and work for Roche Diagnostics. I'm waiting on my appeal for revision to bypass to be overturned. What's your story? I originally had my band placed in 2008, I had some early success losing about 50 lbs but after the first two years I got tired of fighting it. I resorted to eating around it. For the next 4-5 years I did weight watchers and a bunch of other diets (blah) with some success but the weight always came back plus some. My last straw was I went into my PCP last December and my weight was up to 263 (only 20 lbs shy of my pre band weight). I called that day and made an appointment with my surgeon. We discussed options and the RNY seemed the way to go. I didn't have any trouble with insurance, after my 3 month supervised weight loss, they submitted on a Friday and I was approved on a Monday. Wow! Sounds sooooo familiar! Who did your bypass? My surgeon is Dr. Ditslear at Community North. I absolutely love him and the team. They did my band as well.

    Oh happy day!

I had my 6 week post op appointment today... Since I my first consultation with my surgeon on 12/08/14 I have lost a total of 45 lbs and my post surgery weight loss is 38 lbs! I did a happy dance as I got off the scale. The nurse may have thought I'm a little crazy but this is the first time in my adult life that I have fallen below 220! Anyone else having any motivating successes???
  8. Latido could you reach out to your old surgeon's office and ask if there is a clinic or doctor in your area that they would recommend. At the very least make an appointment with your PCP to run some blood tests to make sure you don't have any deficiencies.

Red37 I did have some and it stayed down great! Unfortunately in Indiana it is hard to find. My go to is Trader Joe's but it is 45 mins away. Next time I go I will stock up!

Mani mahi is my favorite fish. Great pan seared in lime juice with some onions and cilantro.

    Oh happy day!

Virgo66 yes, I had my band placed in 2008 and struggled with it to the point where I just ate junk to avoid getting sick. Even with the few complications I've had I don't regret the revision at all! I had my 6 week check up on Friday and i am at the lowest weight since I had my son in 2003.

    Oh happy day!

Today brings a NSV! My husband got me boots for Christmas last year (extra wide calf) and I couldn't zip them up over my ankles even ????. Thought I would try them on this morning and they zipped right up!! Now if it wasn't summer I would totally be sporting them everywhere ????
  13. I took off about a week and a half. For the first few weeks I was always super tired when I went home and went straight to bed. Two weeks off may have treated me bette. I am an assistant bank manager, not too much activity in my job. Truthfully only in the last two weeks (6-7 weeks out from surgery) I have had enough energy to do much after a full work day.

    Band to bypass approved today

I just had band to rny revision on May 7. Mine was covered by insurance, thank goodness! I had struggled with the band since 2008 and originally lost aprox. 60 lbs but then slowly creeped up 40. Now 6 weeks after the bypass I am at the lowest weight that I have been at in 15 years! Dropped under 220 for the first time! Even though I've had a few complications... Battling a stricture. (Everyone in the endoscopy department of the hospital knows me now). This has been the best decision I could have made! No more running to throw up after eating 3 bites of chicken! It definitely gets better every day ????
  17. I went back after about 1 1/2 weeks. Once I was back at work I felt that it helped keep me in a schedule with fluids and protein. I was able to chop up my day and that is when I really started getting all of my fluids and protein in. I do admit that at 6 weeks post op I am still pretty beat at the end of the day. Unfortunately I've had 2 setbacks and spent some time back in the hospital due to a sever stricture but I am very lucky to have a boss and work place that has been very understanding.

    found out what was wrong

I am 6 weeks out from surgery and have been admitted back into the hospital twice because of a seroma beneath one of my incisions and stricture so sever I only had a pin prick opening from my stomach pouch into my intestines. I've now had 4 endoscopies with balloon dilation. I am finally keeping down soft foods and seeing a light at the end of this tunnel. Anyone else been down this road?
