    So frustrated!

I am relieved that I didn't have this issue a year ago. I know that it would have been much worse getting up and moving with the extra 85 lbs! I am grateful that the dr did give me hydrocodone that is at least allowing me get some rest at night. It's all just a waiting game until I can get the MRI done.

    So frustrated!

Contrast this to the doc who felt I was doing okay because I could put my own socks on - say what??? i aspire for more.... @@CowgirlJane Heck yeah! Being able to put on socks is great and all but we didn't put all this work and dedication into our health to stop at that! We all have so much more in store for ourselves than more pain and limitations!

    So frustrated!

The X-ray didn't show any thing so they are sending me for a MRI. Fingers crossed that they can get me in before the end of the year as I've already reached my out of pocket maximum for 2015. As most of you suggested the RX for now is rest, ice and elevation. Quinoa and Kale, my new ice pack of choice!

    Lightheaded

I have very low Vit D and have been having spells like this for about a week or so. I am just shy of seven months out too. Wondering if the Vit D deficiency could be causing this ?!?

    I'm so ashamed

I have gone to McDonalds a few times for breakfast and I discovered that you can order a side of egg whites. They are 60 cal and 14 grams of protein. Add a little salsa and I am completely satisfied! I think that there are very few of us that can honestly that we haven't given into a craving at some point or another! I know I can't but, I just have to move forward and remind myself that I don't want to weigh 260 lbs again!

    Period after surgery- IUD ladies

Yep... Full blown periods have been back for me as well! That was a side effect of surgery I had not considered and do not enjoy.

    ????Any May Gastric Bypass peeps????

My 4 month surgaversary was on the 7th this month and as if like magic it seems that all of my hair is trying to flee my head! I know that this is to be expected and I had been trying to mentally prepare myself for "The Great Shed" but I am not taking this well. It is traumatizing every time I take a shower or brush my hair or even run my fingers through it!!! I got my order of Nioxin yesterday and hopefully it will help. Anyone else having this happen yet? Any tricks, hints or suggestions to maximize the amount of hair I keep on my head? Thanks all, you're the best ????
  14. That's why I like Lose It, it tracks steps as well as interfacing with my Fitbit

    Band to bypass incisions

Yes everything was done laparoscopically and they were all the same size (or pretty close) except that darn port site!! They all healed really quickly as well.

    Band to bypass incisions

I don't think they will have to go back through the port site. I had 7 incisions from my surgery and I think standard for bypass is 6. Hopefully that spot will be left alone.
  17. I use the Fitbit Flex and Lose It app they work together. I love the Fitbit and it keeps me motivated to get my steps in. My husband is setting up his Fitbit surge as I type. Have to admit I'm a little jealous his does so many nifty things.

    Band to bypass incisions

I didn't have a wait between removal and bypass but the incision where my port was removed took almost three months to fully heal. I developed a seroma and it took all that time to want to heal up and stop leaking. Hopefully I am the rare case and others healed much faster!

    Struggling

I am in the midst of my first really emotionally stressful situation since my surgery. My mother in law passed away yesterday and I am finding myself at a loss. Like many WLS patients I have always celebrated, stressed and grieved with food. I feel lost already and now not being able to cope in the way I always have is making my head spin. I tried a 1/2 a half of a chocolate chip cookie. Ugh!!! Sick to my stomach. Old habits definitely die hard!

    Eating sucks

I was just thinking about this... Most of the time eating does suck! My lunch of 4 slices of turkey wrapped around a cucumber slice was just blah!!! But I made chicken tortilla soup (minus the tortilla part for me) and it was delicious, healthy and so satisfying! Those meals that just hit the spot are so few and far between that they are like little gold mines! Truly, I could have the same thing tomorrow and would hate it. That part sucks too!!

    ????Any May Gastric Bypass peeps????

I have a machine called a Yonanas machine, it turns frozen fruit into ice cream.. I froze sugar free chocolate fudge pudding in ice cube trays, and ran it through the machine, and it tastes so much like a Wendy's frosty!!! I'm not even kidding... Going to store now ????!! Thanks for the great idea
