  4. That's amazing well done. we had our surgery on the same date maybe we could keep in touch and be sleeve buddies
  5. Hi I'm post op day 5 and I. still in pain. my surgery was 4 hrs due to complications. the lady who had hers done on the same day is already back to normal. altho her öp only lasted 1.5 hrs. I guess we all heal differently. But I feel your pain I just want to get back to feeling normal again!!
  6. Day 3 post op... Feeling much better, finally can see some.light at the end of the tunnel. Havent felt hungry at. still on 'free liquids'.I know I expected pain but nothing prepared me for th back and should pain.. this hurt much more than the op (tummy incisions) I didn't have a drain and was walking day 1. Good luck to you all. It's a very tough couple of days but it doesn't get easier. I hope to be going home in the morning.. Can't wait as I cannot sleep in this bed! x x Thanks for this post. I've heard a bunch of people say during their hospital time in post-op, they were in so much pain they were regretting the decision to have surgery but months later they were happy they did it. I always have back and shoulder pain and I don't really know what this surgery would do to the back or shoulders. I thought it would all be abdominal pain. Hopefully they give you some good meds to keep you hurting too badly. Morning! The shoulder pain was due to the air being pumped into you during op.. that went with alot of arm movement exercise eat. the back and side pain was excessive lying on my back. I was in op for 4 hours then another 3.5 in recovery. had complications but all went well over all. Since I put some ibroprofen gel on my back last night I haven't needed any meds for the tummy!! I met a lady who had the surgery 4 years ago (she was visiting the patient next to me) she popped her head in to say don't give up and even tho your having a very bad time it's worth it. seing how good she looked really helped!! I hope to be going home today so I'm feeling positive ????

  9. Is there anyone who is having a sleeve on Friday?? Who love to have a buddy through this major.life change xx
  10. Hi yes that would be great. How comes you are having the bypass??
  11. Hi... Can you believe my surgery date is this Friday!!! How are you doing??
  12. Hi I am due to have my sleeve op in sept /October. I am determined to start my journey by losing weight myself. However I have no motivation at all!! I just cant seem to get myself in the right frame of mind. Did anyone else have this deflated feeling? How did you get passed it??
  13. Hi Jay! Tiredness is absolutely going to be there. Your body is going through a major event and it's going to be working overtime to heal up after being messed with. Your blood pressure may drop (very common post surgery) and that also makes one tired. As for the headaches... I haven't experienced any. Dehydration can often cause the headaches and as long as you keep sipping (harder than it sounds) then you should be okay with regard to the headaches. I only experienced nausea the day of surgery and 2 days post. That was mostly due to the anesthesia though. Once I got to eat "normal" foods, if I eat too quickly I experience some nausea, but I've learned to slow the heck down and it makes a huge difference. I've had hair loss for years so I don't know if it's increased or stayed the same. Like ShrinkingPeach, I have a ton of hair so I'm not too worried about the loss right now. My experience has been fantastic! I'm really pleased with my results thus far (I was sleeved 5/28). I've hit and come through one stall (there will be more I'm sure). I have zero regrets. sorry I don't know know why I haven't seen your message untill now!! That you for your advice. my surgery is Friday so really trying to organise myself. I have fine hair so I'm really worried about losing it!! How is your journey going??
  14. Hi, I am due to have my op in the next 3/r months. From my research its safe to say headaches, nausea and tiredness is the main symptoms of WLS OH and hairloss. I wondered how long does these symptoms last? Hows your experience been? x
  15. Jay05 My surgeon told me that the liquid diet prior to your surgery helps the healing. It is less painful and heals faster. It wouldn't hurt right. My surgery date is set for September 14 in California. I am on a liquid diet at the moment with a small meal in the evening. Headaches are awful!! But from what I've read on this site.. it gets easier!! How are you feeling about your surgery? not long for you either. I can believe mine is in 2 days!!!

  18. Well done for coming so far!!
  19. I'm sept 4th. No pre op diet required!!
  20. I had my pre op assessment yesterday (uk). I asked about the pre op diet and was told that my surgeon in particular doesn't request his patients to go on a diet however if I was under the care of 1 of the other 2 surgeons they would have liked me to go in a 2 week milk diet!! My surgery is next Friday! conflicting information... Maybe if should just do a strict liquid diet.. guess it can't hurt. Has anyone else been told they don't need to be on a pre op diet??
  21. How are you feeling?? where are you from?
  22. Hi my surgery is on the 4th. (in the uk) I have my pre op assessment on Friday 28th.. they haven't told me I need to be on a special diet yet! How are you finding it?? are you excited?? I'm slightly nervous!!

  24. Hi everyone. I have just been put on the WL for sleeve surgery and should have the surgery within 3/4 months. I am really scared as I haven't told anyone I'm doing it. I feel like everyone will judge me and I will find myself in the center of gossip. I know I shouldn't care what people think but I feel like a failure for not being able to lose weight myself. Is there anyone that kept their surgery a secret?? Thanks in advance x
  25. Hi Thanks for sharing. You really have to be prepared for this journey... I've had WLS before that went horribly wrong. Now I am re-embarking on this journey nearly 7 years later. One thing I can tell you is that it's not the easy way out. Having surgery is a life long commitment to being on the ball forever. It's not like a diet where u can say oh I'm going for a meal I will carry on my diet the next day. You will need to learn about nutrition alot more after WLS than ever before. Trust me don't feel like your taking the easy way out. A doctor once told me... Obesity is a disease and WLS is just the medication you need. Good luck on your journey I hope everything goes well for you! x
