    October

I had surgery 10/15/15. Gas was a nightmare on the 16th but has gotten better each day. I have trouble sleeping though but I'm guessing because there are several naps throughout the day! Lol. Each day I feel better and better except today I was so irritable!! Anybody else experiencing irritability? Thought maybe it was a post op side effect and hopefully was a one time thing? We shall see!!!

    4 days post-op

I had my surgery on the 15th, as well. You are lucky the gas pains have not bothered you! Gas was a nightmare the Friday evening when I returned home from the hospital. It has definitely gotten better since then. I can relate to tiring so easily, but each day gets better. Today, I was extremely irritable, especially to my sweet husband. I could feel the illness , but had a hard time controlling it. Today is a new day with new beginnings. Best of luck to you!

Congrats to you also anewme2015! Love your screen name!
  5. I've struggled since the birth of my adult children. Have you had your pre op appointment yet? Pre surgery liquid diet? I'm dreading those 10 days!!
  6. I'm in Cherryville. We aren't too far apart! I shop sometimes at Concord Mills. Have you had surgery or are you waiting on your day? I'm so ready!
  7. Very small town in North Carolina. About an hour west of Charlotte. What about you?
  8. I am very excited and just a little nervous. And yes, I have to do a 10-day liquid diet--ugh. Although I know it will be hard, I still want to do it. I've been trying to prepare in advance by drinking some protein shakes, not drinking with my meals (which has been the hardest for me), and starting my vitamins. What about you? Pre op diet?
  9. Hi Jenny! My name is Lara. I am 47 years old. I am tired of yoyo-ing up and down with my weight. I am ready to find the real me. I especially want to feel better. The closer I get to 50, the worse I feel and the heavier I get after each significant loss/regain. My date for surgery is the 15th of October. We are only 5 weeks away from a new beginning!! =)

I'm hoping to get an early October surgery date. I'm waiting for a consultation with the surgeon now. What are any of you doing now to prepare for surgery?

    New here!

I'm old enough to be your mother but I'm hoping to have an appointment with the surgeon sometime soon. I go for my psych evaluation next week. That's the last thing I need to do to complete the paperwork so I'm hoping it won't be long after that. I can't have surgery until October though. I won't have my portion of the money until my medical flex spending account renews for the year. I'm excited. Starting July 1, I'm going to try to give up soft drinks and start trying different Protein drinks. Pre-op diet is my biggest fear. I do not like Protein Drinks.....too chalky! If anyone knows of a good one, please share!! By the way--you can quit smoking!! I've done it twice. Although I still have cravings for cigarettes, I just try to focus on something else during that short burst of craving. Good luck!!
