@@BigViffer thanks! I started working out 1 month out of surgery and really haven't stopped since. I think that really really helped. I have a bit of loose skin in my belly and a very small amount under my arms and in my inner thigh area but I'm very happy with the results so far

Before: 319lbs (July 1, 2015 -1 week after surgery) After: 191lbs (Feb 22, 2915) This was the best decision of my life!

I'm less than a week post op and i'm doing GREAT! I've had a fantastic experience so far, i can only hope the same for future sleevers. On to my topic: Any one else feel embarressed to tell the people in their lives that they were thinking about or even ended up having WLS? I've heard a million comments from coworkers, family, and even close friends who have said, it's the easy way out, etc. I was surprised to hear my parents advise me to not tell my extended family if it came up. But I wouldn't want to lie when they see me 100lbs lighter (here's hoping!) So since this became the right decision for me, I havent found a way to justify myself to the opinionated nay-sayers. I'm 300lbs...but I wasnt 600lbs, i was pre-diabetic, but not type 2 diabetic, etc. so i feel like I'm going to be looked at as the dude who just took the easy way out to get skinny when health was a sincere reason for surgery. I'm just having a hard time feeling the confidence in telling the people in my life that I had this surgery and i feel great already. Hope i'm not the only one feeling this way.

1mo post-op New pain in lower belly
PChayy05 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I had the gastric sleeve 1 month and 3 days ago. All of my pain and soreness was gone a week and a half ago but two days ago I started having pains on my left bottom side of my belly, almost right above or near my pelvis under my belly. I feel it when I get up from sitting at work, or when I stretch my back. Not sure what this could be. I figured it might be soreness from internal stitches, but does it makes sense to get pain after I've been painless for over a week? And I also feel like the area of the pain is too low to have anything to do with the surgery. Not sure! Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated. -
Lower left side belly pain

Roll call all who had surgery JUNE 2015
PChayy05 replied to JosieAppleHead's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Awesome, sounds like you're doing great. I had my surgery June 25 and I just had my 1 mo doc follow up and i'm down 45lbs. I tried a small bit of salad and felt the bubble guts as you're saying lol i'm still in my mushy foods stage and so far, I feel fantastic. I'm pretty sick and tired of my protein shakes, but i'm running out so i'm going to try a new kind, new flavors, i'm sure that will help. I'm going to start at the gym on Monday, really looking forward to getting in there and seeing how some cardio improves my weight loss. Best of luck @@JosieAppleHead! -

Incisions healing - do mine look "normal" ?
PChayy05 replied to no onions's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They are red because they are probably irritated by the glue like a lotttt of other people. I had to get my glue off after week 2. The itchiness was unbearable, and I was breaking out into small red dots all over my stomach and the incisions were swollen and red, doc said it would be ok to lightly scrub them off in the shower left to right. Once the glue was off, SO MUCH RELIEF. The swelling went down but the redness was there for another week. If you have irritation you should try benedryl and hydrocortosone cream which worked great for me. -
Day 6 post op itchy red incisions
PChayy05 replied to need change's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@muzical1 My doctor mentioned that they should start coming off after week 1, but I left them on for two weeks, and I regret it, I had to start peeling them off and lightly scrubbing them with a wet towel in the shower because I was breaking out BAD all over my belly. Now that they're off I have so much more relief. I still have some red bumps around two of my incisions and they itch here and there, but I took some benedryl and i've been rubbing hydrocortisone on them, they are getting better. How's your bruising? I have a huge bright purple bruise the size of a tennis ball on the left side of my belly button and it's barely going away. -
I'm 3 weeks post op tomorrow! No more liquids, awesome! But man, am I already over this phase!!! Maybe I need some ideas? Here's what I've been eating: Apple sauce Greek Yogurt sugar free Jello Protein shakes Fruit smoothies (protein added) Hummus Bell Pepper Hummus Artichoke Hummus Garlic Hummus Tuna fish Trader Joe's organic Soups (Tomato, Tomato Basil, Squash) What else can I eat? My menu is driving me nuts already. It might look like a good variety, but I feel like i'm eating the same 3 items over and over againl, I need more options! HELP! Sorry for the whining. I'm done now.

I'm tired of this phase!
PChayy05 replied to PChayy05's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very cool! I'm definitely going to try cottage cheese, pintos and cheese, I heard the Chinese hot and sour soup is great, and i'm definitely going to work on deli meats, I didn't even think of that. I tried broccoli and cheddar soup and that was a BIG no-no for my stomach. THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTIONS!!! -
When do our "insides" heal?
PChayy05 replied to simplyamy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That makes sense. My incisions look mostly all healed almost 3 weeks post op, but my stomach muscles still feel sore. Bending over, I can feel some soreness on my left side. I jumped out of bed the other day and that really hurt too. I hope i'm good by week 6 because i'm afraid to get in the gym even though my outsides are healed. -
Nice! I was thinking of purchasing some Bio Oil for my incisions too! And I have a small rash across my stomach, perhaps it'll help with that too. Hope your rash is totally cleared soon @!

Keep this post going:) Things I am looking forward to (not food related)
PChayy05 replied to Jessica Radcliff's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am looking forward to not being so conscious of myself in public. Hate constantly thinking about if people notice my belly, or my constant sweaty forehead from just walking. Also I can't wait to no longer worry about fitting intona booth or chair somewhere. -
Awesome topic. I've been wondering about the things i've read too. Several people saying they eat ANYTHING they want, just smaller portions. Honestly, it would be nice maybe 8months to a year down the mine to be able to have a cup of chow mein or a slice of pizza here and there, but as of now, i think its most important to train myself to eat well. I havent had a cheeseburger in almost 3 months and i'm amazed at how I dont crave it anymore. Im actually craving hummus and greek yogurt. Lol i'm almost 20days post op and if I start thinking I might be able to slide in chips or dessert soon then it's going to create a slippery slope. I know myself lol anyway, best of luck to everyone!

Nice! Congrats. Surgery day is tomorrow and i'm sure you're already on your liquid diet to prep. Get ready for a roller coaster of feelings for the first week post op, but it will go by quick! I'm 13 days post op now, and I'm back to work feeling 90% amazing. One of my incisions is still a little sore (I think that's the one the stomach was removed from), nothing intolerable but some discomfort. Sounds like you've found yourself a great doctor, so i'm sure you'll be doing great after surgery, just make sure to HYDRATE! It's a total chore for the first few days, but keep sipping. You should finish a glass shot of Water every 10 min or so. It's going to be tough, but you'll get through it. Sip on those Protein shakes too! If everything goes wonderful, i'm sure by week 1 your pain will subside, and depending on your doctor you may be able to drink broths, eat Soups, apple sauce etc. I just started all that a few days ago and i'm feeling so much more energized. Best of luck!

Surgery cancelled 4 days prior...I'm upset
PChayy05 replied to Karen Crawford Wright's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That sounds horrible. I understand where you're coming from. My surgery was postponed twice before I had it done June 25, the second time it was postponed a couple days beforehand too. Work was getting tired of the dates swithed, and I was starting to lose confidence, but you've made it 2 years! You're literally right around the corner from your surgery and your new healthy life. It's going to be all worth it. I'm sorry you broke your ankle, but just think of it this way: You don't want to be hobbling around, in pain from the ankle, in pain from the surgery, it's just going to add more discomfort. Focus on your ankle being totally healed, so that you can devote all of your time and energy into recovery after your wls. -
