I am 7 months post surgery and have gone from 230 lbs pre surgery to 162 lbs. My doctor just did blood work without fasting and said my triglycerides and cholesterol were high and suggests I start meds to lower them. When I was 230 lbs my levels were fine. What in the world is going on and I am wondering if I should get a second opinion or do another blood test?

Complete loss of appetite
sherryboberry replied to Cognorati001's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you don't eat make sure you at least take Protein supplements or your body will use your own muscle for energy. I also can go hours and forget to eat especially at work. I'm sick of the bars and Protein shakes so I read a bunch of VSG blogs and found out about Unjury Protein. My fav is the chicken flavor. It is like Lipton cup of soup and tastes great with about 21 grams of Protein. I also got the unflavored and add to cream of wheat or anything I can mix it with. -
June 2015 sleevers
sherryboberry replied to eisorp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on June 15 and weighed 230. I'm down to 183. I am 5'6" and have been eating Protien and and veges primarily but allow myself other foods occasionally. I really just stick to small amounts all day. I really think my success so far though has been getting the 50 to 69 grams of Protien. I bought unjury chicken flavored Protien powder and it's amazing! It's like Lipton cup of soup chicken broth and its 21 grams of Protien. Since I have arthritis in my knee the only exercise I do is 30 min a day of exercise bike or treading water in the pool. -
I bought egg white Protien powder that is unflavored and mix it with my tomatoe soup. Got it at HEB. I don't like sweet Protien mixes so this one really helps me. Don't mix it in before you heat it up though because it will change the texture of the egg white Protien.

Breast smaller due to weight loss
sherryboberry replied to byebyefat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
. Thanks for the info! That's exactly how I want to eat and I'm really looking forward to the day I can add fruits and nuts back into my diet. This surgery was exactly what I needed. I ate healthy for the most part but just ate huge portions. It was embarrassing but I always felt like I could eat more and the hunger was always ever present. I'm just going to have to learn how to manage the eating every couple of hours something small at work between classes. -

Now I'm in size 5 or 7 jeans and M /sometimes S tops. Along with my boobs I lost my butt so my jeans are slim cut rather than relaxed fit. I included my 12 month before and after pics (still the same at 18 months) I am thrilled with my surgery and everything that came with it. I researched for months and read thousands of threads on this and other WLS boards, so nothing really came as a surprise (other than how easy it's all been). Never had one minute of regret. image.jpg . Thanks for the pics! I hope I look as great as you do now. Can you tell me what a day of food now is like for you? I am a teacher and wondering how I will be eating at 8 weeks. -

What is the pain that I am feeling on my left side?
sherryboberry posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had gastric sleeve on Monday and am still having a great deal of pain on my left side even with meds. Can anyone tell me what that might be? I am thinking it is where they cut the part of my stomach off. I also have a lot of bloating from the air but trying to walk to get rid of it. So excited to find this community to learn and share with. -

Thanks for the replies. That makes sense that the major work was done on that side. After reading the forum I have noticed a lot of people saying it took a good month before that pain was gone. -

Very motivating. I'm on day 3 of gastric sleeve and the air makes my belly bigger than when I went in.
