I am almost 51 ( a few days away) and am planning on having gastric sleeve surgery to help me lose weight so I can have hernia repair surgery.  I am married and have 4 children, all grown, but no grandchildren yet.
 
I was always active and able to keep my weight under control until about 15 years ago when an injury limited my ability to exercise and my weight ballooned up.  I have never been able to lose the weight I put on then.
 
I weigh 281 pounds, have high blood pressure, very close to being diabetic, have 3 very large hernias and am ready to get my life back.
 
I hope that by posting here and reading the advice of others I can become better informed and get extra support for this.  I know it wont be easy, but I know I can do it and I am ready to get started.
