My experience was awesome. The nurses at St Francis took very good care of me. They were also very knowledgeable. I had my surgery 7/2/15. So far I have lost about 52 lbs. I have not had any major issues. I just have to remember to eat at times. Overall I think I am progressing well. I have attended a few support groups and they are helpful. I just wish they were more often.

Hey, how long did you take off from work after surgery?
Keke74 replied to WinchSight's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took off 10 days, including my hospital stay. Today is my first day back to work and so far so good. I wish I could have taken more time though. Getting all my food prepared for the day was a chore and I keep forgetting to eat and drink. I don't have a set routine yet. As far as pain is concerned, I didn't have any once I returned home (and I have a very low pain tolerance!!!). I walk 30 min everyday on the treadmill, so my energy level is pretty good today. I say take as much time as you are allowed. You can always choose to go back earlier than planned, if you feel you are ready. -
Like you , I do not have any co-morbities, but my BMI is over 40. My PCP had to provide a letter of necessity and I was a new patient. After seeing her for 6 months of supervised weight loss, she wrote the letter without a problem and I was approved by my insurance within 2 days after my doctor submitted to them.

I have Cigna also. I didn't lose any weight during my 6 months of supervised weight loss attempts and they still approved me.
