  1. My doctor said it's perfectly fine to have a few sips if you need to get food down. I don't think they expect you to choke on food or have such a dry mouth that you can't get anything down. The only thing about having a sip when it's needed is the part where you don't go back to old habits and continue drinking. That will flush all your nutrients that you need. But I would definitely bring that concern up to your doctor to see what he/she says. Good luck!! You can do it!!!

    10 days post op.

I hear you. It's definitely not easy. I know my next thing to try is refried Beans with a sprinkle of 2% cheese. I've been looking up a lot of recipes on Pinterest and Google, I've come across a few that peak my interest. Good luck! You'll do great!

    10 days post op.

Eeeek! I talked to my doctor and they said I can start some soft foods. I had half of a scrambled egg and was full! Then my family had quesadillas and I tried a piece of chicken fajita and I was in heaven. It all went down fine!! I'm beyond excited that I can start some actual food.

    10 days post op.

Thank you so much! ???? I've tried many things to stay hydrated and it's not until today that I'm feeling it the worst. I continue to sip throughout the day but maybe I need to bump it up a notch.

    10 days post op.

I don't go back to work until the 20th, thank goodness. I wouldn't be able to function if I did. I'm doing pretty much an oz every 15mins but they never told me anything about doubling it. I'm going to call the doc tomorrow to see if I have options. Thank you!

    10 days post op.

Thank you. I'm probably not getting enough fluids in and I know for sure my protein levels are low. It's just hard for me to get my protein with the type of 1 oz cup system my doctor has me on. I'm trying to stay positive and look at the bigger picture but today has me all messed up. I appreciate the support.
  7. Im struggling today. For the last few days I've felt fine, not many issues but today has kicked my butt. I feel tired, nauseated, right below my belly button is sore, I have no urge to eat, my mouth is super dry. I feel like I'm falling apart. I'm not doing anything different from precious days and haven't really had issues like I have today. Sorry guys, just venting!

    June 30th Sleevers?

It gets so much better! Just take it a day at a time. I recommend, if you aren't currently taking anything, some sort of heartburn medication. I'm taking Prilosec and I feel like it's helped tremendously with the bubbles. What also helped was not laying down while I was drinking. I realized that was causing a lot of my discomfort. Good luck!!
  9. It's crazy how different everyone's eating regimen is. Since I got home from the hospital I've been on a liquid diet which has consisted mostly of 1oz of something every 15 minutes but 2 of those have to be water or a water substitute and the other 2 can be something like: sf jello, sf pudding, soups (liquid or creamy no chunks), protein shakes, cream of wheat, malt-o-meal, yogurt, etc. Then when I see my doctor on my 2 week follow up he will let me know if I can start soft foods. Scrambled eggs here I come! ???? I can't complain though in 6 days I've lost 15 pounds. woohoo!! How are you doing on weight loss?
  10. Today was definitely difficult for me while everyone was eating. I wanted a hot dog so bad! But I eventually snapped out of it and ate my 1 oz of soup and went on with the evening. But seriously I can't wait for some actual food.
  11. I know I need to take it a day at a time. Thank you for responding! I was curious to know what others went through.
  12. Hi Sleevers, I have a question for you. I know I'm still very fresh off this surgery but I'm starting to get discouraged because the pains in my belly and acid reflux isn't subsiding as fast as I've heard other people experienced. I'm taking my meds, resting, and walking but when I think I'm getting better it quickly tells me, no! How long did it take you all to feel completely healed? Do you have any words of wisdom? Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks guys!!

    June 30th Sleevers?

I did drink some broth earlier and it settled in my stomach better than some other things. Like Popsicles and jello...oh man...they don't agree with me right now. It sucks, I still feel bloated and have gas pains from time to time. I'm walking around my house as I write this. Lol. It's actually helping some. I just keep telling myself I've only been post op for 4 days and I need to give my body time to catch up. I hope everything gets better for you. I know how the struggles are right now.

    June 30th Sleevers?

@@Ktprimo omg I'm having the exact same feeling. Every time I drink something I get a weird sharp sensation in my stomach and then air bubbles that come up. ???? I'm only 4 days out but I'm hoping this will go away soon.

    June 29th Anyone?

Hey, we did it! How's everyone feeling?? I'm feeling okay besides the gas bubbles I'm getting low in my stomach. I never thought I'd be so excited to pass gas but this surgery has proved me wrong. ???? I hope all is well with everyone else.
