  1. I'm scheduled for surgery on Nov. 20 to have my lap band removed. It was put in December, 2007. The band has never been right or comfortable. I still throw up occasionally...even after all fluid was removed. During an endoscopy, I found out the band has eroded into my stomach. It is about half or a little over visible. Surgeon has said they're easy to take out through the mouth if they've eroded. Has anybody had this done. He says they'll cut the band in half, slip it out of the pocket that still exists and pull it and the tubing out through the esophagus. Sounds terrible! The only incision will be to remove the port and cut the tubing. That will leave open ulcers in the stomach and I'll have to follow with ulcer meds and diet.

    Could it be gas pain?

That is EXACTLY how I've been since my band surgery on Dec. 3. Dr. finally told me to take Mylanta and it seems to have fixed the problem.....or if not "fixed" improved it dramatically! I have been almost pain free most of the last 3 days. It has felt like "bubble in my right lung" since I came out of surgery.
  3. Hi, I'm new here and having problems! I had the surgery on Dec. 3 and I'm still miserable. My weight is going down, but I'm in almost constant pain and discomfort. It feels like I have "bubbles' in my lungs and I am struggling to get a night's sleep. Any body else having these pain problems?

    Surgery on 12/3 and miserable!

I've talked to Dr.'s office multiple times. I think I have reflux going on REALLY badly and don't know what to do about it. My GP put me on Nexium and I'm trying to eat protein every 2 to 3 hours, but none of this seems to be working.
