Sept date I am all set

Praying for you Amber425. You'll be just fine.
  2. Since my surgery is on a Thursday I'm going to take off the folowing week as well. I can't miss a lot of work. I hope that will be enough.
  3. Great news. I'll be a week behind you on Oct 15.
  4. ok great. I just talked to the surgery scheduling person. I really felt like I needed to share with her my experience thus far and for some reason I thought she would appreciate me being honest. She was very defensive pretty much told me that I didn't know what I was talking about. How could I not know what I experienced? Anyway, even though I have been approved for over a month, I still have no surgery date. I told her that I would call her back to schedule my date after Sept 1st when my FSA kicked in. I really want to be healthy and get off of all these meds and everything else that comes with WLS. I hate that I'm not excited anymore because of having to deal with non-compassionate people. Did any of you experience this with kim bariactric?
  5. How do we get in that support group. I have Dr. Holden.

    I am finally post op!

so glad to hear you're in good spirits and on your way. Thanks for posting.
  7. Sleevenchica do you have basic or standard?
  8. I don't have a date yet. I'm approved but Melissa is my insurance specialist and I can't get her to get it done. (Long story) Anyway, if I don't take my approval elsewhere, I will be at Baylor trophy club. I never heard of the Destiny center. Sounds nice. I only went to Frisco twice. All my other appintments were in Colleyville. I'm glad it went well for you
  9. That's good to hear. I have Dr. Holden. I pray she is as good as Dr Kim.
  10. I just received my approval letter in the mail from bcbs. My doctors office still hasn't scheduled me for surgery
  11. All my nutrtional visits were done at the doctors weight loss clinic. The only thing I had to go elsewhere was for the psyc eval and the cardiologist.
  12. That's what I was thinking the cooridinator would do for me,but she just told me that they could not give me a date without the apprival in office. They advertise that they have these top insurance negotiators but I'm doing all the leg work. Blue cross told me that they would resend the approval to them and mail one to me. I'm going to scan and email mine to them when I get it. I really like Dr. Holden and I want her to do my surgery. If it wasn't for that fact I would see if I could take my approval somewhere else.
  13. I just called the doctors office to see if I could get a surgery date and they told me that they haven't received approval from blue cross even though I called blue cross blue shield 9 days ago and was told I was approved on July 20th. So frustrating.
  14. That's great! I hope we can all get surgery dates around the same time.
  15. High blood pressure and high cholesterol. I have a lot of joint pain when I ride from a resting position
  16. Yes. She said it was a new requirement. I thought it was odd that they would add it mid stream. I could understand if it was for those who were beginning the process.
  17. My paperwork was submitted to BCBS Fep on June 22nd. My Doctors office called and told me that BCBS is now requiring 4 nutritional visits. I went to the additional visit on July14th. I still hadn't heard anything form my doctors office on the 24th so I decided to call the insurance company myself. I was told that my surgery was approved on July 20th. The approval was for 184 days, so I have until January 20th 2016 to have the procedure done. I started my journey in April of 2015 and I'm not quite sure why the doctors office hasn't notified me that I;ve been approved so I can get a surgery date. I'm going to call them in the morning.

    TX Buddy

I'm in the DFW area with Dr. Holden @ Kim Bariatrics. I'm done with all the pre stuff, just waiting on a surgery date.
  19. Hi, I have completed all my pre-requisites for my insurance and now I'm waiting for a surgery date from my insurance, BCBS Fed. I'm a principal's secretary at an elementary school so I have June and July off. When I called to set up my initial visit for WLS, I was told that my surgery would most likely be in July but now I'm being told they're now into August for surgery dates. I hate the thought of missing a week at the beginning of school. Has anyone been able to get back to work in less than a week with the sleeve?

How long until I go back to work?

I got a call just yesterday from the doctors office. They told me that bcbs made a change and I have to add one more nutrition class. Originally it was 3. Now she said they are denying surgery if you don't have 4 classes. Im scheduled for another class next week. It bothers me because I could have taken the class a while ago. I don't think its the insurance, I think my insurance rep dropped the ball and is blaming them. Anyway, it looks like it won't happen before back to school. It will most likely be september.
