    Loss first month

Marylou... miralax or other liquid over the counter medication is ok. Even suppositories if it's been a while. Just caution to use them sparingly. You want your body to do the work as much as possoble. It was 3 weeks before I could stop using some sort of constipation aide. Now Im regular. Totally normal because pain mess and diet change and high protein.

    Caring for kids

I have no other health issues (makes a difference in recovery) and was 236 on surgery day. I stayed 2 days after surgery in the hospital. My kids are 4 & 2 (special needs). Mt parents took them on a 3 day trip when I got home which was perfect amount of time for me to be ready for them. I wasn't allowed to pick them up for 2 weeks but it was alright because I could roll him onto the couch or help him into bed. Luckily not a crib anymore. The not allowed to lift will be the biggest issue. I did lift him a couple times. It didn't hurt, but I worried about ripping stitches. Luckily it was fine Hope that helped!

Pain around lower left shoulder blade?

My shoulder pain in my left one was extreme. Hurt more than any part of surgery. It was gas. Gas-x strip are worth a try. It went away for me by day 9. Dr said I she would have wanted me to call after day 10... so I guess it worked out well. Rest of recovery was pretty smooth. Hope you feel better soon! If you really are worried don't hesitate to call the Dr

Losing pounds but do not feel a difference

Definitely be kind as you go through this. For those who are heavy (any of us at start) it can take many pounds lost before progress is seen. Also, those around us (ourselves included) see everyday and don't notice as well because of that. I would suggest taking pictures every 2-4 weeks to compare that way you can see the difference side by side. I'm pretty sure seeing myself differently will be my biggest challenge. I will have to work hard to change the picture in my head as my body continues to change. You are awesome! Doing Fantastic! Keep strong and focus on the non number achievements. They seem to happen at cool times
