Former csection mommies
SleevedShannon replied to MollyF22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the other posts. The pain of a C-section didn't compare to my VSG. The lack of energy after the surgery was harder for me to deal with than the amount of pain I felt. I found out from conversations with friends getting up and moving as much as possible after surgery can often decrease the amount of pain you deal with. -
Very inspirational! Great job!

Food Regrets Over Time?
SleevedShannon replied to thinner-me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The short answer is yes! There are definitely days when I wish I could just run through a drive-thru and enjoy a hamburger and french fries like I did before the surgery. I was an emotional eater and not having my "best friend" around sometimes causes me to feel frustrated. However, I have lost 60 pounds since my surgery in June and I feel A LOT better than I did when I would eat using my pre-surgery habits. It's worth the trade-off, but there are days when it is tough. You just have to figure out how to focus on the positive changes on the days you're struggling and missing your unhealthy pre-surgery habits. -

Tummy feeling weird
SleevedShannon replied to dgsleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 7 weeks post-op and have had the "bubbly" feeling for several weeks. It started when I began eating the soft and pureed foods. It almost feels like air in my stomach is being displaced as the food goes down. I believe it's normal, but you can always check with your surgeon if you're concerned. -

I've found listening to "Just Be Held" by Casting Crowns helps me get through the days I'm struggling. Good luck to you!
