My surgeon said no coffee for a month. Also recent studies have confirmed that coffee is not a diuretic unless caffeine consumption is over 400mg per day.

My surgeon tells all his patients 4 weeks. Being 28 I was def ready earlier but started light lifting about 3.5 weeks out. But like someone else mentioned, start slow and listen to your body.

I ordered mine in online not sure EBAY or Amazon but it worked out to be cheaper than at BBB and free shipping.

I have to recommend the squatty potty to all my friends here. Not only has it helped me but my non-sleeved wife (who mocked me when I bought it) uses it religiously!

7 weeks since surgery. HW 305lbs CW 253lbs Feeling great.

I'm 6 weeks out and yet to travel but I would definitely feel comfortable doing so. I'm guessing you will be on regular foods by then so it won't be very hard finding something you can eat. Just keep your bottle of water with you an maybe bring some protein bars incase you are out and about.

For me alcohol was never a trigger nor was it the reason for my obesity. I had 1 drink a week before WLS and intend with my surgeons approval to continue that. I can't count how many times in my life I heard the expression "everything in moderation". It's something I believe but was never capable of. My 1 scoop of ice cream always managed to become 3 scoops with 400 calories worth of toppings. WLS has forced me to change the way I live my life and I couldn't be happier about it.

Wow SteveHud if anybody ever needed a drink huh. Your positive words are so greatly appreciated. I'll stick to my surgeons recommendations. Maybe you should stick to your shrinks.

Just saw my surgeon today and asked when I could have red wine. He said I could start now just go easy because it may effect me differently. I'm 5 weeks out and had a glass of wine. Def hit me faster but tasted better than ever.

My surgery was March 23rd. It's very hard to get my recommended 80g of protein unless I suffer through a second protein shake. I'm getting my 64oz of fluid regularly. 44 lbs down, sleeping better, and full of energy :-)

Holiday to Thailand 5 months after sleeve
JT1230 replied to GG123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 5 months out you will know what your sleeve can and can't handle. Thailand should have plenty of delicious fish on their menus. When you have surgery you put your life in a Drs hands. If you feel comfortable doing that then I would definitely trust them when they say your fine to travel. -
Can we add a little fruit to our protein shakes?
JT1230 replied to ld33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Half a banana and or a tablespoon of peanut butter can make shakes much more satiating. Definitely consult surgeon on that one. -
Depressed & Can't meet H20/Protein goals
JT1230 replied to fullyalive's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was repulsed by Isopure at first until I tried the green tea flavor. Still leaves a bit of a chalky feeling in mouth after but it was much easier to get down than dairy protein shakes. You could always mix half with water and sip. That may make it more palatable. -
I am 5 weeks out today and had very little pain with surgery. The abdominal tenderness lasted 3-4 weeks.

How do you guys do it?
JT1230 replied to choicemun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm one month out and nutritionist said to eat every 3 hours. All foods she suggested are rich in protein. Some days I have to remind myself but others I'm hungry 2 hours later. Every day is different but just focus on your goals and do the best you can each day. -
Week 3 stall. How long did yours last?
JT1230 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After 1 week pre-op diet and 2 weeks post-op I had lost 38lbs but like almost everyone else I'm stuck in my 3 week stall. How long did yours last? -
need to learn to slow dow
JT1230 replied to bevewhite's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's so hard! I know part of what got me to 305lbs was eating way too fast so to eat even slower than the average human is a huge adjustment. Try putting down your fork between bites. -
I asked this question to my surgeon last week. He said they are ok to take. Problem with gummies is they usually are not complete. I'm 2.5 weeks post op so I take a serving in the AM and the PM.
-
What are you eating at this point? Dr give you calorie goals?
-
Impossible to stop all together. Best way to minimize it is to eat slower than you ever have before. I'm still learning how to do this because I used to eat way too fast. I was sleeved 3/23.
-
Try these. A little pricey but a much easier way to get 40g of protein.
-
How fast do you see results
JT1230 replied to bellabeans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Down 30lbs in 2 weeks. :-)) -
Walking around definitely helps. Also be conscious of how much air you swallow while drinking. It's something we never thought about before but it's a big deal now.

Went for my 1 week checkup and dr said try for 80 grams protein and 900-1200 calories. I'm 28yr old male 275lbs.

Dr. Sadek just did mine 3/23. Great surgeon.
