Well I have been obese for most of my adult life. I had my first child at 16 and gain an excessive amount of weight which I could not lose. Then 5 years later I gave birth to twins. It has been an uphill battle with numerous weight loss programs, not reaching much success. I consulted my insurance about the procedure and they approved me one year, but as our coverage changed the next fiscal year. I was not covered for the surgery, in fact it was an exclusion.
I am a type 2 diabetic on 2 different types of insulin, plus I have high blood pressure on 3 different types of medications. Recently I have developed asthma and other medical problems. I have changed my diet over a year ago with no real results, so I knew it was time for a serious change.
I consulted several doctors in the US and the process is just ridiculous. The payment plan is even worse. Besides most surgeon only finance the lap band procedure which I do not want. I did some research and reached out to A Lighter Me. My counselor had the procedure in Mexico, so I decided to talk to a few others who did the surgery. Turns out it is very popular, so I am taking the next steps to have the procedure done, since I have developed a whole in my stomach no sense in not having the procedure anyway.
I am just tired of caring this excess weight around and dealing with medical problem after medical problem. I am ready for a change. :D
