:biggrin1: Well, I usually don't have any issues with sex. But I will say that using toys can really spice things up. I usually go to www.adamandeve.com to get mine and sometimes my husband buys toys on the side and surprises me with them! And boy! They have been some REALLY good ones!!!

Not band related, Maybe XXX, maybe some arguing...
Kathy473 replied to HeatherGurl's topic in The Lounge
WOW! I missed a good one! I never noticed this thread! But it kept my attention for awhile! The "XXX" got my attention first and then the drama! Good thread Heather! -
:happybday: Nice tattoo! You go girl! I think every tattoo has a special meaning to the person that is getting it and I love the fact that you took the time to really make it your own.

It has happened to me and it freaked me out!!! I went last week to have my band deflated before I go out of town and the nurse missed it twice. What bothered me the most was not that she missed...I understood why but it was just the pushing on my port that had me wanting to get sick and pass out!!! The third time was the charm!! She explained to me that as you lose weight, the fat around your port goes away or shifts and it allows the port to move and tilt, so it isn't facing out like it did when I first got it. And then after she took out the saline and needle my adrenaline went out of this world!!! I was moaning and groaning and in cold sweats! They said I sounded like a woman in labor with all my moaning!! I just was freaked out and I didn't want to pass out so I was breathing really hard and I started to cry. But after it was over and I calmed down I was joking around with the nurses and we were all laughing together and laughing at me. So we made light of the situation! I go on 03-09-06 to have my fill done but that is going to be by the doctor himself so I am looking forward to that! The nurses do the deflations at the office and he does the fills at the surgicenter so he can check the restriction with the barium swallow. But I guess this is just part of the whole process and stuff that you sometimes have to deal with. But it is worth it! :biggrin1:

Well, seeing that I just ate a couple of cookies from Subway I should not be someone to give advice right? :faint: Well, I am going to anyways!! :biggrin1: I am at a weak moment right now. I had a deflation done on my band because I am going out of town on Monday and then I got my period this morning....so my cravings are being fulfilled!!!! :angry Bad, bad...I know! But I could always just be a bitch for a couple of days but I don't think that would go over too well with my family! :omg: But when I am being good and focused I eat yogurt, bananas, S/F Jell-o, S/F pudding and S/F frozen yogurt with F/F Cool Whip!!! Yummy!!!! Or grab you a Special K cereal bar...those are sweet too and not alot of calories. Popsicles are great and try some frozen grapes...those are really good...different but good! Hope this helps!!!

Just went there and no one was there. :phanvan It was like that a few times I have gone. I guess most people just want to do the threads instead of getting into a conversation, maybe? I like doing chatrooms but this is also easy.

WOW!! Sorry you had to go through all of that! I can't believe she left you in there for that long!!! I just started tanning again for the summer and I told them it had been awhile and they started me at 10 minutes and then after 3 tanning sessions I went up to 12 minutes. And I think that their beds only do 12 minute sessions anyways. I go to a tanning salon that is part of a franchise, Malibu Tan, and the staff is wonderful. They also carry the Mystic Tan Booth which is the spray on tan and that works pretty well but I just prefer the beds and I use alot of tanning lotion before I get in. If you get the thought of tanning again I would try that and see how you like it. It takes just a few minutes and your done! I am glad that you are feeling better. Take care.

:faint: OKAY!!! Nevermind that I almost passed out today while the nurse was trying to find my port...I finally have RELIEF!!! It took her 3 times to get the needle into the port! It kept moving on her and it was making me panic and then I broke out into cold sweats, moaning like a woman in labor! (thank god I was the only pt there!! ) I was moaning because I didn't want to faint on them. I hate being out of control like that and it really upset me that it happend but the nurse was really great about it and hugged me afterwards! My husband was in the waiting area and heard me and knew that I was having a panic attack and thought "Oh Boy!". But I drank some water and cooled off and everything was fine after that. The nurse told me that as you loose weight the fat around the port goes away and isn't there to keep it in place so then it is able to turn. Oh well! And she took my whole fill out for me and I was able to actually eat lunch today without pain. And I get to go to Chicago, see Oprah, and have a good time with my mom and mother-in-law and not be in pain! But, until I get another fill when I get back from Chicago I have to be careful and mindful of what I eat, but I am doing that now so it should be ok. Just glad it's done! :clap2:

I think I am going to call Dr. Spivak's office and go ahead and schedule my fill. I should have done it while I was there but I didn't...duh. The restriction just killed me! It was so bad. I hope your next fill helps out!!! :biggrin1:
-
Yes I did! I actually lost 5lbs...felt miserable but lost it! Couldn't eat anything solid like fish, beef or chicken so I have to be careful now that I can so I don't gain it back and then some! Is this your first fill?
-
I had a fill done on 01-26-06 and since then I haven't been able to eat anything solid without it hurting and feeling like I swallowed a golf ball!!! Not even eggs girl!!! And then with me going to Chicago on the 27th and seeing Oprah, I didn't want to be miserable! I wanted to be able to enjoy myself. :hungry: Eat and it not get stuck!!! That's all, no other problems! I will get a fill when I get back. How have you been?

HEY CHICAGO!!!! I need your help! I am going to the Oprah Show at the end of the month and I need wardrobe help. I live in Texas down by Houston so I am not used to your weather. Any advice on what to bring with me besides the obvious coat and gloves? Do I need thermals for underneath my pants? I planned on wearing to the show a nice pair of jeans and boots with a black velvet jacket. My mom is freaking out and going out and buying all kinds of tights and coats. My mother in law is from Michigan and she knows how the cold is up there and is not worried about it all but I am a virgin to it all! HELP!!!! :omg: What do you suggest?
-
Thanks! I knew that if I were to bring thermals and things like that, that it would be too much...now if I can convince my mom!!! She is being a total freak about it. But then my parents are weather hounds and the first sign of a black cloud they go into a frenzy....oooooooh. PUHLEASE!!! Thanks again!

Dr. Spivak- Houston, TX
Kathy473 replied to Sorority ChiK's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
He is absolutely fabulous!!!! I just love him to bits!!! Very caring, understanding, has a sense of humor, great bedside manner, staff is wonderful and he is just so cute to boot! I so recommend going with him...I have never heard anything negative about him at all. And as far as getting a fill with him....painless! :clap2: You will not be disppointed. -
Okay...I had a fill on 01/26/06 and I believe that I went from 1.5cc filled to my doctor only putting in 0.5cc to put me at 2cc's full. Well, I have felt alot of restriction which I know is a good thing but it hurts to eat even some of the soft food that I ate before like eggs and even a soft baked potato. I can eat a few bites and then I get that pain in my back and slimy feel in my mouth and I have to walk around and try to stretch it out and it is so painfull!! :think I do great with liquids and soups (take bits of beef/chicken), Jell-o, yogurt, ice cream, etc. And then of all things to happen yesterday...I was hit with a stomach bug which I haven't had one for years!!! I vomitted a couple of times and was running to the bath everytime I turned around! Now that's over. Whew! Now I am scared to eat for fear of having to go to the bathroom! And one of the other reasons I am thinking of getting an unfill is because I am going to Chicago for an Oprah show and I will be there for 3 days and I don't want to be miserable like I am now. If anyone has any thoughts on what they think I should I would really appreciate it! Thanks!!!

I did hear her say that she does Pilates and she eats half of what she did before and that can work for some people. If she did have surgery and she is keeping it to herself for whatever reasons then those are HER reasons. I commend her on the weight that she has lost and if she comes out and says that she did have surgery then she did and that's that. You can eat right, exercise and lose the weight that you want but you have to be determined to stick with it and obviously I didn't or else I wouldn't be here talking to everyone on this message board. I will admit that I was too lazy to stick with it and love different flavors and textures and can't get enough of some foods and now here I am. Everyone is different and entitled to their own opinions and this is mine. Some things work for others and some don't. And I know that the band is a tool and I use it in that way, not as a miracle cure. So, Star is Star...she is who she is ...and if she did...she did and if she didn't...she didn't. Who cares...in the big scheme of things does it really matter??

Thanks everyone for the advice! I am going to call my doctor tomorrow and see what he thinks. It is amazing what .2-.3cc's could do! I just need some relief and to be able to eat stuff other than the mushies since I have been eating them for 2 weeks now!! I have thrown in a few solids and they just get stuck and it sucks so much!! Thanks again!

I never stopped drinking coffee and I used it as part of my liquid diet. My doctor never told me any different. I think it depends on the person and their doctor. I would consult with he/she first before you take it away. I drank hot coffee and hot tea alot. I did drink my broth and water but if I gave up anything....it was the cokes instead of the coffee...but that is just what I did. Everyone is different. Good luck!!

:hungry: I try to keep applesauce, string cheese, yogurt, soup-at-hand and the 4oz cans of mixed fruit at work at all times. All of them are at least 120 calories or less. I used to keep cans of tuna but tuna is not my friend anymore....it gets stuck no matter how much mayo you put on it or how much I chew it! :phanvan Ticks me off too! I love tuna! Every now and then I will have a small bag of Cheeto's but I make them last for awhile and follow it later with a bottle of water to get some of the sodium washed away! And I keep popsicles on hand at home at all times...that and Jell-o w/Cool Whip. Yum!

My favorites are: Evanesence, Lacuna Coil, H.I.M., My Chemical Romance, Nox Arcana, Seether, Disturbed, Linkin Park, No Doubt, Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Green Day, U2, Duran Duran...I Listen to a variety of music but I am getting towhere I cannot stand country...it all sounds the same anymore and the funny thing about that is that we go to a 'country' bar every Friday night(the drinks are cheap!)...If they play the older stuff from the early 90's like Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn...etc...I am fine but anything else drives me nuts. So no, I don't 2-step and the thought makes me gag. But when the DJ throws out the dance music you bet your ass I am out there shaking my soon-to-be small ass! I like alot of dark, vampiric music too...call me weird but there is something so calming, soothing and romantic about the music. www.noxarcana.com If I listen to this music with my eyes closed it is so hypnotic and makes you picture yourself in a castle with a long flowing gown, candlelight and a cool breeze blowing through your hair. It makes my heart race to picture it. I think I should have been alive back then!! And I love the fact that my husband feels the same way. Light the candles, turn on the cd, turn off the lights and let the romance flow. :kiss2:

We have gone the past 3 years and I am not really impressed at all. They need to have it when it is a little cooler and once you go to one it's usually the same thing the next year. We will go this year to Austin but not the rally. Party on 6th Street and check out all the bikes there.

Weird...outlines usually hurt more than when they color it in. But then too you were a little intoxicated!!!
