I went to Dr. Roizen's website for his Real Age test and found out that I am really only 35...not bad! I guess changing alot of what I do can make a difference! I did the test a few years ago and I know it was way higher than that!!! www.realage.com

In the season 1 they had one week where they had to sing songs that were considered from the WWII/Swing Era...And I remember Kelly Clarkson doing an awesome job with it and it was fun too and she dressed the part. They need a different style of song to sing but I think the only one that could handle it would be Katharine. I wsa glad to see Paris go though...the show is a bit too big for her.

I love cereal!!! If I ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner I would be happy!! My favorite right now is Frosted Chex and the Cheerios with strawberry yogurt flavor. It goes down pretty well and to me it is very satisfying. :hungry:

Good Band - Fast (Home or Restruant) Food Ideas
Kathy473 replied to cashley's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went on a trip in February and took some Special K bars and snack bites with me...Chex cereal is also an idea for a snack with or without milk (Frosted Chex is awesome) or any dry cereal (1/2 sugar ones are great). I eat alot of soups (as we type!) and they are just easier...the Soup-at-Hand are great for in the car and on the go. Yogurt smoothies are good for the car. Take a banana in the car with you too. I have problems with meats and Mexican restaurants I usually have the Tortilla or bean soups and whatever soups they serve at Italian restaurants. Salads are easy too. Hope this helps! -
I hate it when DH farts in public and blames our 6 year old daughter!!! Oh he is fronted out in front of everyone!!!! Trust me!!! :angry I hate it when people ask if my tattoos hurt when I got them! Hell yes it hurts!!!! It is a group of needles going into your skin REALLY fast pushing ink into your skin!!! duh. :grouphug: And then I hate it when people think that just because I am wearing a tank top and my back is showing that they can come up behind me and try to pull my shirt down to look at my whole tattoo. :rolleyes Hands off people!!!! Ask me first...:angry

I hate it when I wake up in the morning to candles burning when my DH says that he blew them out!!! I hate it when I reach for that cute shirt and it is wrinkled!!! I hate it when I am told about a school function the day of! I hate it when my DH says we are going to one bar and then changes his mind and we go somewhere I don't like!! I hate it when people are jealous, childish and just plain stupid. I have a lot more but I have to get back to work!!!! :heh:

Well, I just found this thread today and all I can say is...WHOA! And I thought about maybe giving some advice but I think you may have gotten enough by now. I can see where some things might have been misunderstood or taken totally the wrong way. I can see both sides of the argument but it still all boils down to talking to your doctor and listening to him/her. I asked questions on this board and got great advice from everyone and sometimes I used it...sometimes not. I have given advice to some people but I also usually tell them to check with their doctor. Right now I am eating mushies and I have been banded since September but I eat mushies because I choose to eat them because PB'ing is just not my cup of tea! And...yes...I do chew my food well. So I have become a "soup" person and love it! I also see it a little healthier too eating Soups...veggie, tomato, seafood, etc. My doctor told me to take care of my band and I am. To follow his directions and I did. Did I heal correctly, yes. Have I had any problems...only PB's YUCK! :faint: Do I trust him? Totally! I don't know, I am tired...so maybe I am rattling on a little. I am on my 5th or 6th cup of coffee today and I drank a Coca Cola Blak (yum) and I am still tired....go figure!!!! It is a beautiful day here in Santa Fe, TX and I am in my office....grrrrrr. :angry

Where I live in south Texas we average about $2.89 for regular. Sucks....oh well. Did anyone hear that cigarettes are going up a dollar in September? I think it might be just in Texas. Ours average around $3.20 a pack here. I will definitely quit if they do!

I usually feel like I swallowed a golfball and I have to get up and stretch or move around. But sometimes I just look at how much I have had and just stop.

Well, I was diagnosed with Rosacea a few years ago and also adult cystic acne and I was devasted by the cystic acne. It hurt so bad and I had them injected with steriods to help them go away and I paid $500 a visit for a light treatment on face and nothing seemed to work. I did all of the prescriptions that they gave me....pills, creams, gels, masks...you name it I did it! Then a friend of mine told me that her mother told her to buy the plain Jane Safeguard soap and poof! Clear skin. I started to use it and I actually have cleared up alot and plus I stopped drinking the cokes and sweet stuff and more water and that has helped too. Maybe you could give that a try. I think the reason it has helped is because it is an anti-bacterial soap...who knows!

I actually just bought a new car on Friday and I love it!!! I bought a Scion xB Limited Edition and it is so cute!!! I will have to take a picture of it and get it on this thread! You can also go to www.scion.com and click on the limited series and see it. It is the prettiest green and it drives great! :clap2:

Calories! Help. Am I getting the bare min.?
Kathy473 replied to aleecia2331's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's possible that you can stop losing weight if you do not get enough calories. When I went to Jenny Craig awhile back they told me that if you don't have enough calories to burn then your body tends to hold on to them, resulting in no weightloss. Not sure of a web site that can tell you about it but your surgeon might have a dietitian that you can also ask. Hope this helps. -
Forbidden Foods (or ones that make you hurt)
Kathy473 replied to cashley's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No more steak, anything breaded, chicken, pasta, tuna :grouphug: I can eat salads, beans, soups, grits, oatmeal, ice cream, yogurt etc... I still have hamburgers but without bread and the fries. I have turned into a soup girl! If I go out to dinner with my family or friends, I tell them that the restaurant has to have soup or it's a NO! My mother never really realized what I can and can't get down until Easter Sunday and I wasn't eating the ribs, chicken or sausage...only the grilled veggies and beans were on my plate. C'est la Vie :phanvan . -
Can someone help me with the process?
Kathy473 replied to Darkwing11's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Darkwing------The women at Dr. Spivak's office are so helpful...Do not hesitate to call them again...They understand...It took a few days after they recieved my results before I got a date for my surgery...Once I got it in my head that I was actually going to go through with the surgery I got a little anxious too...It's natural...At least you don't have to deal with the insurance company. -
Chris was awesome! Katharine and Elliot were both very good. Taylor and Paris were good and I think Miss Pickler might be leaving. It was just not a good performance at all.

OK....I am wearing white, cotton, hi-cut panties (sz 8) and a white lacy, strapless bra sz 40B. The one thing that I wish that would have grown along with my stomach were boobs!!! After gaining weight with 2 children and just gaining weight because of overeating they never grew!!! What the hell is up with that??? Anyways....I see a new pair in my future!!! Because what boobs I DO have... are shrinking....:faint: Gimme a break!

I am currently taking Prozac. Actually, my ob/gyn put me on it for my PMS and boy does it help with that! My husband loves that I am taking it...not so much of a bitch! I have felt fine on it and have been on it for a couple of years now. Best of luck to you!

I will drink a little bit of water only if the food seems a little dry, just to wet it a bit. When it comes to breakfast, if I haven't had my morning coffee by the time I eat I will drink it with breakfast. Doesn't seem to have any effect or hurt. I guess you have to just see how you will react to it. I know it's hard for some to stop it totally. But if you can get away with none, that is key. And as far as prior to eating, I drink up until I eat, no problem.

Hey there! Don't fret! It does take a little time but it is worth it. I was banded in 09-06 and I just got into a 14 about a month ago and I too was in a 22-24. Just stick to watching what you eat and exercise and you will be there before you know it!
