  1. I have the silver bracelet with the Red cross on it....and I get asked alot what it is for. It has by name, dr name, his office number, Gastric Band, date of banding. The bracelet that I have is from American Medical-ID site and is the one on the front page in the middle. To me the more it looks like an actual medical bracelet instead of being fashionable the better. If it's fancy then a medical professional might not look at it. So, don't think about the fashion part, think of your health first. http://www.americanmedical-id.com/marketplace/details.php?prodid=1089134115&usersession=Y9TWVG9C http://www.n-styleid.com/

    Ziploc Omelettes

ZIPLOC OMELETTES (This works great !!! Good for when all your family is together. The best part is that no one has to wait for their special omelet !!!) Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker. Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them. Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc. Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up. Place the bags into rolling, boiling Water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water. Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed. Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and a great conversation piece.

    Pics from our tattoo convention!

Hey guys! I just wanted to share these pictures with you! We went with our shop to a tattoo convention in San Antonio, TX two weeks ago called the Alamo City Tattoo Convention. We had a great time and we were able to meet Kat Von D from Miami Ink. She was so nice, pretty and TALL! She is a great artist and if you watch the show you have seen her work. We took both of our girls and had a great time. Enjoy. Me, my daughter Faith and Kat Von D My husband-Kenny, daughter Bryanne and Kat Von D
  4. Ok guys....had a fill on 07-12-06 and I went from 1.7cc to 2.2cc...saw the restriction...did the liquids/soft diet for 48 hours and then slowly started back on solids like fish, chicken, veggies. I have been good to my fill but it's gone! I went to dinner last night and had an avocado-crab salad w/pico on top...no bread and iced tea (didn't drink the whole time I was eating)...I was able to eat almost the whole thing!!!!!!! No problem...it went down real easy. What is up with that???? I am confused. This is the most I have been filled but I feel like I can eat more than I did before. Anyone?

    Pics from our tattoo convention!

Yeah, I wish the guys from Miami Ink would have been there. Kat was there as an independent artist. She owns a few other tattoo shops and the one that is also pictured "Elm Street Tattoos" is one of her shops. It would have been great to see the other guys!!

I love vampire movies the most but I do have a lot of other favs....Braveheart, Terms of Endearment, Titanic, Imitation of Life, Gone With the Wind, Sleepless in Seattle, The Skeleton Key, The Big Easy....The list goes on and on....
  11. I think I have already said something on this thread but it doesn't hurt to repeat! I had my surgery done by Dr. Spivak and I absolutely LOVE him! He is so nice and caring and is always there with a warm smile and friendly conversation. And his staff is great and will help you in anyway. He is not agressive when it comes to getting fills done. You get them as you need them and if you aren't sure (like I am) you can talk to one of the nurses and let them help you out. I called and talked to Shirley and discussed the things that I am eating and what I can't eat and she scheduled me to come in and do just a barium swallow to just "take a look see". I do that on Wednesday. So maybe I think I need one when I really don't need it. I was really lucky that I was able to pay cash by getting a loan and chosing Dr. Spivak and this surgey was one of the best things I have ever done for myself and for my family.
  12. I threw this together a few minutes ago and it came out pretty good and thought I would share. I made a couple of chicken breasts for daughter and myself and she likes her chicken w/BBQ sauce (she's 7) and of course I want more flavor and a sauce is a must to eat my chicken with. Chicken is a rare thing for me! So, I found a can of pineapple chunks in the fridge and thought...."what can I do with this?" I threw it in a pan with some cajun seasoning and lil extra chili powder for more of a kick, some pepper, salt, light golden brown sugar and some onion powder...might sound a little weird but I was just throwing it together!! I let it boil for awhile just to let the flavors come together and then I threw it in the food processor and at the end a handful of cilantro was put in and chopped with it. WOW! It was pretty good and spicy. I have no idea of a calories or fat amount but that it was spicy and sweet...a good combo. :hungry: Put over a grilled chicken breast and enjoy.!
  13. LMAO!!! I read the letter when it 1st came out and I think I read it too fast because I just read over it again and wow! Not the type of letter you want to read while sucking on a popsicle!!!!! Which I was!!!!! I found myself thinking about last night with my hubby and having flashbacks!!!!! :heh: :grouphug:

What kind of drinker are you?

Is this a bad thing that I scored high? :grouphug:  Bourbon Congratulations! You're 123 proof, with specific scores in beer (100) , wine (100), and liquor (86). Screw all that namby-pamby chick stuff, you're going straight for the bottle and a shot glass! It'll take more than a few shots of Wild Turkey or 99 Bananas before you start seeing pink elephants. You know how to handle your alcohol, and yourself at parties. My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender: You scored higher than 53% on proofYou scored higher than 82% on beer indexYou scored higher than 68% on wine indexYou scored higher than 66% on liquor index

What Foods did you have to give up?

Pasta, bread and pastries.....:think Those were all of my downfalls!!! I still can't eat a steak or tunafish but that's fine too. But I would love a bigass Cinnabon and cup of coffee!!! :hungry: But giving that up is all a part of this new journey and my ass thanks me for it!! :clap2:
  16. I have to say that I love doing it and I don't feel as it is a chore or expected. To me...hearing him moan and groan and grab ahold of my hair and seeing his toes point is enough for me! :clap2: I love it!!! It's a great feeling knowing that you make someone feel like that and it also doesn't bother me that he brags to his friends...let's me know how bad-ass I am at it and figure out new ways to make it better!! LOL!!! Surprise!!! The reaction is great! :heh: And when it's his turn.... WOW! But if someone doesn't like doing it then that is just how they feel and shouldn't be judged by it. You never know...they might like it eventually.

    Bye-bye Star!

I watched the Larry King interview last night and I listened to what she had to say and I have kind of hopped the fence and gone a little towards her side. First of all, she found out about the executive producers not renewing her contract from her husband through her agents and managers, not form Barbara or Bill. That was not cool to me...as closely as she had worked with Barbara Walters I thought she would have found out from her...I would have wanted it that way. Then, she knew about this since 04-21-06 and she was still a professional everyday and never let it be known that she wasn't renewed in her contract on air. And then I guess what drove her to finally crack and say something on Tuesday instead of Thursday like they planned was the way it was becoming a media circus outside her home and she didn't want it to be that way. Would you? She is an attorney, first and foremost and she knows that she can screw herself by going on national TV and lying...so why would she. And as far as her weightloss, everyone knows how personal it can be and yes she is a celebrity but she is still a person with feelings. So she didn't come out and say..."I had WLS!!!" But she did say that she had 'medical intervention' and anyone with a brain knows what that means. But at the end of the day, what does it really matter and who is it hurting. So what, she had it, she lost the weight and is probably healthier now than she was before and I hope that she can go on with her life and be 'healthy'...to me that is all that matters. All this other BS is just a bump in the road of being a celebrity. Everyone has their own opinion and this is mine. Agree or disagree. Life is too short to worry about what other people think, you pick up and move on and i think that is what she is trying to do.

    Severe Pain! Please help!

I have been feeling the same for the past 2 days. It came up all of sudden. I have a pain in my back and in my sternum. Like a tightness. No pain in my port area. I had dinner last night and we headed into Houston to a car dealership and oh boy!!! My DH thought he was going to have to take me to a hopsital to get checked out. The pain was horrible!!! I had chinese for dinner and had won ton soup, a few edamame and grilled veggies w/buckwheat pasta (only a couple of bites) and about 10 minutes later it hit. He pulled over and my mouth was full of saliva and the pain was so bad....that had to be the worse I have ever felt. I called the after-hours number and got no one!!! (that ticked me off!) so we got in the car and were on our way to the hospital when I finally threw up....:clap2: ....felt better after that. We went to his mom's house and I went straight to the bathroom and threw up, again...but this time it was the food I had for dinner! :cry I still felt discomfort this morning so I called the dr's office and talked to his nurse and she said that it doesn't sound like a slippage or erosion...anything of the sort. And I have no acid-reflux either, gas...oh yeah! But she scheduled me to come in and do a barium swallow instead of a fill, just to take a look at things and to see how restricted I am. So, I feel your pain. You have no idea why you feel this way and everything is going through your head and you feel helpless. I think I am going to do the liquid diet for a few days and see how I feel. My DH seems to think that I might be coming down with a chest cold also...it has been going around over here. Since I have a tightening in my chest and lung area. So, we'll see. Good luck with everything.

Do you ever forget you're banded?

I forget alot! And then I am reminded of it when I reach into the washing machine or in the tub and I hit my port! That hurts. Or when I wake up in the morning and start to drink that 1st cup of coffee and the first drink doesn't go down too well! Ouch! I am reminded of it when I want to take a big ass bite of someone's burger or steak...whatever anyone happens to be eating that I can't take a big ass bite of is a sad reminder. :cry But it's worth it.
  23. I take Prozac in liquid form, chew 2 calcium Viactiv and 1 Multi-Vitamin Viactiv and use BC powders for aches and pains or Tylenol liquid for adults....so far I haven't had to take anything else.

To Booze or Not to Booze

I found out that Crystal Light is the best mixer for drinks and a great way to get your Water in! Yeah, Yeah...what about the alcohol?! Oh well....would you rather drink the sugar-filled fruity drinks and carbonated drinks like beer or rum and coke?? I take a regular bottle of water (16oz) and put 2 packs (extra flavor) of Crystal Light Lemonade, shake well and then drink the top off...down to the label and fill with ice cold Vodka....OMG!!!!! Yummy!!!! and if you freeze it until it slushes...WOW! I also made it with the Crystal Light Fruit Punch and Jack Daniels....that is REALLY good! I happened to stumble upon this concoction in Austin, TX in my hotel room....I made a Crystal Light Fruit Punch and my DH's Jack was sitting there and I got to thinking....and when I think....WHOA NELLY! And by golly! It was the bomb! So to answer the question...."To booze or not to booze?" Why not! But you just have to find a way that is best for you...and I think I found mine. The only down fall is most bars can't do this so I think I will stick to a Bloody Mary or just Jack or Crowne and water w/some lime. :heh:
