    SADI

I successfully had SIPS in 2015. I would do it again! I was 279 lbs day of surgery. Today 152. Feeling great.
  2. I had my surgery 3 years ago come this June. Look and feel great in my size 9/10 jeans and medium tops! However, these past 3 days I have been having severe diareah, frothy and yellow in color. Upper part of my abdomen has been feeling gasy and full. I have been trying to drinking more fluids, and cut out any carbs, eating only protein and veggies. Taking my vitamins. No fever or feeling ill, but fear something is wrong. Has any other veterans had this issue? Sent from my SM-S320VL using BariatricPal mobile app

    Can’t make a decision

I did the samething you are doing, researched like crazy. Then my brother, whom is a surgical nurse, had the sleeve done. It was a breeze for him. I had SIPS. We both had our surgeries in 2015. He is now gaining again. I am steady at 148-150lbs. Zero weight gain. I have no regrets! In fact, I wish I had it earlier. Feel great. Have any questions, just ask.
  4. I feel seeing the dr will be best. Thanks for the input. Sent from my SM-S320VL using BariatricPal mobile app

Thinking about SIPS but scared out of my mind

I dint eat clams, but I have eaten shrimp, tilapia, flounder, sole. No issues and very digestible for me. I have had issues with hamberger, steak. Just seems very bulky and I have to cut it into tiny tiny pieces.

Thinking about SIPS but scared out of my mind

Hi, I had sips in 2015. Like you, I thought the very same way. I can tell you my experience has been all positive. After surgery, I experienced no pain. Stuck to my liquids, soft foods and gradually eating normal foods again. You will get full fast. No fried foods, as now your digestive is completely re-routed so you will experience smelly, oily stools. Not fun, but remember you will only absorb % of your intake. Vitamins regime is multi, iron, D3, I also still continue with a premier protein shake at least 1x a day. 309 highest weight now 148. Size was 28 now 10. Living and loving my new found self again.

    Did your insurance cover SIPS

Hi, I have UHC and they covered it. My surgery was on 2015. Initally, it was denied, but the surgeons office needed to code it differently, then it was approved!

    Hair Loss with DS

I had SIPS 06/2015. Hair started shedding around 4 months out. My hair used to be my best feature, not anymore. With vitamins, protein (LOTS of it) it's just starting to grow in slowly. My new hair texture is different, very kinky and frizzy, thin and I feel like a scarecrow. I hope this starts growing in faster. With all that said, I wouldn't have changed anything about my surgery!

SIPS / SADI-S LOOP DS SUPPORT

I have had a great experience! I had mine done on 6/8/15. No problems at all. Like everyone else, Vitamins, vitamins, vitamins. However, all bariatric surgeries require that. Very pleased and have lost 175lbs.
  18. I didn't tell my inlaws! They are too negative and I know I would hear all sorts of bad things and negativity. I am happy I didn't share with them. Loving live.

    DS or GB?

I chose this surgery because I wanted something "long term" I didn't want to take the chance of gaining after any other surgery. I know too many who had RNY and the sleeve most of them gained back. I know me, and I know I would revert back. This is much more restrictive and I have absolutely ZERO regrets. Good luck on your decision.

    sips help

Hi, I had SIPS back in June 2015. My mind was set on having the sleeve, however, when I went to see my surgeon, he told me about the great results he has seen with SIPS. I researched and read and talked with whoever I could that had this surgery. My biggest reason why I went with SIPS, is because I have seen so many people gain weight again after the sleeve. I know how I am when it comes to food, so I was looking for a more permanent solution. SIPS seemed to make more sense for me. I am very happy to say, I am NOT sorry one bit I had this surgery. To date I have lost a total of 114 lbs. I'm down from a size 24 to 14! Here are some facts you need to know about first. You MUST take your Vitamins daily. You MUST get in your 80-100 gms of Protein per day. Your body will tell you when you eat the "wrong" foods, especially high in fat. (Gas & Diarrhea). Also, Exercise! Once you start losing the weight, it will be much easier to exercise. If there is anything specific you want to know, just let me know! Good Luck to you!
