As much as I looked forward to my sleeve, I am having serious bouts of regret. I had my surgery on June 01, and have lost 38lbs. Within that time I have become dehydrated, was hospitalized for 8-days for pancreatitis. I just got out but I cannot hold hardly anything down besides porridge, fruits and Popsicles. Every meat that I eat, I throw up, even pasta. I ate a little in the hospital but was given medicine to prevent nausea. I have pills for that but it seems like I am still vomiting at least once a day. I tried frozen foods, that didn't work. I bought food from restaurants and that didn't work. I'm regretting this because I am hungry every two hours but cannot seem to keep anything down. Does this subside?

Are you able to eat regular food but in small amounts?

Thank you everyone for all the advice, like yourself I believe that it is best to see my surgeon and nutrition more often than before. Hoping that things change...

Today is my 15th day post-op and my doctor is not ready to release me to go back to work. I don't care to go back either because we only have 7-more days before school closes, but I feel bad being out for almost a month. How long did it take you guys after surgery to return to work?

I believe that for me 4-weeks off is best because when I go to the store to get groceries or if I move my car, I get really light headed and start feeling nauseous . I know that this is linked to the liquid diet because I'm usually on the go.

They did but I guess because I am still on a liquid diet that I didn't equate the two.

I am 15 days post op but within the last week, if I feel too full, to the point where my stomach hurts, I usually vomit until I feel better. I'm concerned because I've never done this before. I'm wondering if this is natural part of VSG or am I in the wrong?

Thanks everyone for your advice, I appreciate it.

I am a teacher so school closes June 26, I have been off since June 1 my surgery date. I just don't feel right. My job is stressful and I have a hard time getting enough energy since the surgery especially on a full liquid diet.

I had my surgery on June 01 and had my post-op on June 09. I lost 25lbs, but am slightly dehydrated and it's so hard to get liquids down. The only thing I love are my gummi multivitamins and sugar free Popsicles. I started a full liquid diet but all I like is the milk and oatmeal and tea because it breaks the gas. The adjustment is definitely a challenge. I feel weak if I do too much and I attribute that to not eating. Is this a normal phase/feeling? Will it go away?

Can anyone tell me if the gas disappears ?
