    Aetna PPO

Of visits where they monitored my weight, I didn't have to lose but I couldn't gain any weight. Also you will have to meet with the nutritionist each visit and psych. Luckily for me my practice was all inclusive to include lab so when it came down to pre op with pcp I just needed an X-ray to get clearance. Best of luck to you.

    Aetna PPO

I have Aetna too and yes they will use your weight from previous appointments, however I did still have to do 3 month
  4. So today I started my pre-op diet and it was not pretty. After taking in my protein shake I still felt hungry sooooooo......lol. I ate a string cheese. Then after my second protein shake for lunch I ate 1/3rd of a protein bar to get me through to dinner. Amazing dinner was absolutely amazing. I had a piece of skinless salmon baked with little EVOO and kale salad on the side. Yes I finally got the satisfaction of feeling full. I am praying that tomorrow brings me good joy and I don't have to cheat. Hey look at the bright side I cheated with protein just in a solid form lol. Before starting my journey I would have never chose those items as a snack heck for nothing to go in my body so baby steps is great. 13 more days to go for surgery YYYYYAAAAYYYY!!!!!

    July Sleevers! Let's chat!

Hi anne.dalrymple, We are sleeve twins yay! I am scheduled for July 9 at 9:00am. So excited and nervous at the same time. I get what you mean about the shock factor. I wish that was all I had to do. I think it's your BMI why he allows you to only pre op 1 day. I am on a two week 2 protein shakes and one small meal of lean meat and greens. The first two days I nearly died lol but I'm getting the hang of it now and looking forward to dinner. But other than that i am just praying for a speedy recovery and side affect free surgery and I will do b the same for you. Best wishes on your journey and let's keep in touch!

    Calling Las Vegas Sleevers!

My first stop was with Dr. Soong it didn't go well at all I was told that m uh insurance didn't cover the procedure but after being frustrated and contacting my insurance company myself I found out that it actually was but the surgery center he use didn't accept my insurance so I researched and found Blossom Bariatrics and that was the best thing ever. It is a one doctor practice who is flipping amazing from the staff to the cleanliness and modernized off to the state of the art equipment and an excellent track record. Come to find out I am covered at 100% and only had to do a 3 month weight supervision and seeing the nutritionist and psychologist which was in inclusive in his practice no running around and no extra fees minus the copay and pre op class. I am on my way to being sleeved and started my pre op diet yesterday which I found out is better than a lot of other doctors regimen because I can still eat 1 meal in the evenings of lean meat and veggies. I hope you get to the ending point soon best wishes to you!
  9. Thank you ladies. I think I will be ok seeing as though I can have the one meal at the end of the day. I think it was a shock factor. Today is a new day and I don't want to ruin my chance at a healthier me. Blessings to you both!

    July Sleevers! Let's chat!

Hi Laceygoreell, I looked into the unjury products after hearing so much about them and how amazing they taste only to find that it only holds 21 grams of protein. My Nutritionist pointed out something in our Preop class that makes sense. Go for higher protein low carb powders for your shakes so that you ensure you are getting in the amount of protein you need daily. If you go for what taste great its gonna be less filling leaving you hungry or needing to drink more shakes for satisfaction. The higher the protein count the more likely you will be satisfied. Just thought I would share my tidbit and thanks for joining in on the thread. Good luck to you. I also started my pre op diet today. I am to drink Protein Shakes for 2 meals a day and lean protein and green yay me.

MrsRoboto congrats I hope u do get your date soon and congrats on the successful completion of your requirements, I know it wasn't easy but when you have determination fueling you all things are possible. Keep us updated on the approval and scheduling outcome. Welcome sleever!
  16. Thanks for sharing the ideas guys. I believe every surgeon have different diets but the same goal. Some of them are ridiculous to follow that's why I was interested in other surgeons recommendations to have a variety. I myself cannot force eat that only me crave harder so I must have options that's within the realms of the expected calorie intake. Appreciate everyone's perspective!

    July Sleevers! Let's chat!

Smkalken67 I know what you mean by preparing for the pain. I have read that if you stay active the pain is less so push through it and get mobile ASAP. I plan on setting a skate to get me up every hour during the day to walk around. I have also read that keeping a band or wrap of Some sort will help relieve the pain at the surgical sites so maybe look into seeing if one will be provided at the hospital if not find where to purchase one. One person stated they used the pregnancy band so just a thought. We are dredgers in this together BE ENCOURAGED!
