  1. They are always looking for our inner demons aren't they? One of my insurance counselors never fails to ask if I have ever felt severely depressed or have I ever considered hurting myself. The answer is HELL YES, Haven't we all? That makes us normal. If not, you are not living in this world. The trick is persevering and getting through depression and controlling anger! I am sending you good wishes and just keep strong. You're gonna make it.
  2. One thing I would like to add is that if you are snugglers the King size sleep number isn't the best motivater. Ours is so wide we barely touch but even if we wanted to it is hard because his side is higher than my side. He says I sleep in a trench.
  3. My husband and I have a sleep number bed and we have had it for a good 10 years. It works for us because we are VERY different. I am a 35 sleep number and he is an 85! So obviously we would not be happy on a regular bed. At 85 his side feels like a board to me so if you put it on 90 or 95 I can't even imagine. I always sit on his side to put on my shoes. Today they sell a sleep number that is adjustable where you can raise the head or foot so you might want to check into that.
  4. If things go right for me I am looking at getting my sleeve done in December! In November I will have my last NUT visit to complete the 6 months supervised, I will have my release from my cardiologist, and have my pysch evaluation done. Also in November we will be doing my upper endoscopy and if that goes well everything will be submitted to my insurance and the hope is to get approved in time for December surgery. Some people think I am nuts for considering the surgery in December but I think it will just keep me from gaining the normal Holiday 10. Any suggestions or thoughts on this?
  5. I haven't had my surgery yet but one of the things I am hoping for is that I can get rid of some of my daily medications. The problem is that I will have to replace them with Vitamins
  6. I started my contact with this group because they were in my plan and they were the closest to me since I live in a smaller town. I met my Dr. one time and he seemed very nice and I also met my "Case worker" who was suppose to be my support and go between and if I needed her for anything please contact her. Well, since my insurance requires 6 months supervised dieting I started this process and started seeing their nutritionist as well. Unfortunately I have had a few questions regarding insurance and other things and found that getting hold of my "Case Manager" was like pulling hens teeth. Then last month as part of my work up my cardiac Dr. insisted on a Pet Scan which made him question a couple of spots so he pretty much made me an appointment for a Heart Cath. On August 28th I ended up with 2 stents and I am truly grateful that he pushed the issue. I actually feel better and may not of caught this before a crisis without my cardiologist.. Now the problem became that with heart stents you are on blood thinners and this basically rules out Gastric Sleeve Surgery for at least 3 months and possibly up to a year. Today is the 10th and I have tried every way I know how to contact the "Case Manager" I have called emailed and left voice messages. On Tuesday 8th I even emailed the Dr. and he actually responded and said he would have someone contact me that day and of course....no one did. I finally just contacted my nutritionalist and canceled any upcoming appts because there is no reason for me to continue to see her until I know when my surgery could actually be expected. I can't afford to keep paying for supervised visits if they aren't counting towards my 6 months. Her visits are 35.00 each and I travel 120 miles round trip to see her. She responded and said she would let the Dr. know I was having troubles with contact. So I guess we will see. I think what disappoints me the most is that I was led to believe they were going to be here with me all the way and help and guide me and that has not been the case.
  7. I catch this show every once in a while and it gives me different feelings. I was wondering who else watches this and what do you think of the show?
  8. I had my 5th Nut visit today and everything went great. I only lost 2 more pounds but she said I had actually gained muscle so she was happy! That makes 32 pounds down on my own. She told me I passed my pysch eval with flying colors. Now things start getting crazy because I am shooting for surgery in December so now I have the following scheduled: PET SCAN - Nov 2nd 8:30 a.m UPPER ENDOSCOPY Nov 3rd 6:00 a.m. Visit with Cardiologist Nov 5th 9:30 a.m. Last Nut Visit Nov 16th 10:00 a.m. Dexxa Scan Nov 16th 11:00 a.m And if all goes well with my PET (Heart) Scan and Upper Endoscopy they should be able to submit on Nov 17th!!!!! The problem is that I also have a job. Thank goodness I have been saving up my PTO.

    My Hubby is Brilliant

Great idea really. I wish I were app savvy and could do it myself.
  10. Hey Dub, let me know when your gonna do that buck nekkid thing again.
  11. I can relate to that. In a small way I have been doing the same thing. I realized a few days ago that I was spending to much time on the computer looking for things to buy! I am putting the brakes on that....but I wish I could become addicted to housework! Unfortunately I like housework about as much as I crave water.....I DON"T
  12. I purchased the Multivitamin patch last week and put on my first one this morning. So I am going to put them to the test. Thanks for your update.

    December 16th 2015 Sleevers!

That's almost my scenario. I have one more NUT visit in Nov and then they will be submitting for approval. The plan is to get me approved and done before Jan 1st so I am hoping for mid December too
  15. Another thing I always wonder about is how are they financing that amount of obesity. They aren't working so that must mean that my taxes are going towards this and that gets on my last nerve.
  16. Yippee! That is exciting! Now call the Dr's office and verify!
  17. Now she is suppose to be dieting because she is horrified to find out she is pre-diabetic but on the last show she actually gained back 10 lbs she had lost so of course she fights with her roommate and buys a gallon of ice cream and starts eating it in the car. She also got a job that was surely only given to her because of her Television show and when they call her to tell her that the uniform is khaki shorts and and a dark shirt. She then tells the man on the phone that she can't wear khaki shorts because she gets CHUB RUB. Of course this is a TV show but she really seems to think that is an ok way to talk to people she doesn't even know. I was so embarrassed for her.
  18. Its hard to stay 800 lbs without someone helping you.

    Any regrets?

It's nice to read both sides of the coin and I think it helps people prepare for what might happen.
  20. Well I just ordered some. I am going to start them before surgery to try to build myself up and get use to it. I hope they work! I am having labs done Monday so I will have a good base point to compare.

    Things I'll Need?

I didn't realize they generally kept people more than one night. Does that happen often?
