Instead of Cereal, have you tried a handful of pecan halves?

Any MARCH Sleeve Sisters or Brothers out there?
MIMISAN replied to MIMISAN's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Agreed, its going to be a good year for us. Good luck with your doctor. Your in California right? Why would the Dr. not approve you if you are going to pay yourself? -
Sorry I made you spit up your hot chai tea but I just had to say it. I have funneled coca cola thru my nose and I know its no fun. I have never done standup but between you and me I have had a secret desire to be a comedian.

Hmmm maybe you single girls with new sleeves can work that into your E-harmony ad. Something like: I am searching for a lumberjack that is willing to eat anything and everything I can't eat and sometimes take it out of my hand. Also want a guy that likes a little extra skin on his chicken and his women. Come get me big boy!

Let's talk about crap (BM's that is)
MIMISAN replied to Ronjohn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to laugh on this one. I have a little irritable bowel most of the time and I seldom "trust a fart" -
I haven't been sleeved yet but I have read on here that others feel foggy minded for a while.

@lauriev Yes I have tried those additives and I usually just can't stand the taste of them, but one of my main problems is that I just don't drink a lot. Diet flavors usually really turn me off. I can drink Zero Sprite with lime juice but that isn't Water.

Hey Megpie, maybe you and I can be Sleeve Sisters, my surgery has been moved to March 1st

Frustrated to the max, but resigned to reality
MIMISAN posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
On Monday I had a chemical stress test so that my cardiologist could look and them and see if he would clear me for my surgery that was scheduled for Jan 26th and I was very excited and anxious since I started this process 8 months ago. June 2015 I started the process of getting qualified by insurance, this required 6 months supervised dieting, clearance from my cardiologist and psych evaluation. August 2015 My cardiologist requires that I take a chemical stress test, which finds that I have something that looks like a blockage. He urges me to have a heart catheter and they find two blockages and place 2 stints in my heart that I never knew I needed. Low and behold those two stints made a world of difference in how I feel. I never knew how bad I felt and I am happy that he forced the issue because I might have had a heart attack in the future and been totally unaware. The problem is they said they would suggest 6 months before WLS. I completed all other requirements including my 6th month supervised diet in November and they submitted to insurance and I was approved. My surgeons office said we could schedule for Jan 26, 2016 as long as the cardiologist would release me and I got excited. Jan 4 the cardiologist required another Chemical stress test to see how my stints are looking. I complied. Yesterday I get a call from the cardiologists office, they looked at my scan and everything looks good BUT the surgeon who did my stints says that he really doesn't feel comfortable releasing me until it has really been 6 months, which won't be until Feb 28th!!! I realize they have my best interest in mind and of course they don't want anything to land on their heads so ok, I am resigned to that, but why let me think there is a chance if they were going to absolutely stick to 6 months. If they had just told me NO you have to wait 6 months I would have said fine....Its just that kept leading me to think I could be close to my 6 months and do it. Anyway....Now I am scheduled for March 1st, 2016. Seems a long way off but it better happen this time or I might see my bitchy side. -
Best way I have found to make coffee
MIMISAN replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Beer would be a deal breaker for my hubby, thankfully that's one vice I have avoided! My surgeon is the one who told me about this. I also told him that it just isn't possible for me to give up coffee, I love it too much. I had to do without it for two months and then slowly introduced it again. I don't have anything else caffeinated except an occasional iced tea. No coke nor any soda pop. Actually he said anything with bubbles, so that includes beer and champagne. The beer will be difficult because I like to enjoy one around my birthday. Sent from my phone, please forgive brevity and misspelling -
If you flew off the handle when you were quoted 500.00 for medication that can't be blamed on your surgery. That is just righteous indignation. No wonder people live under bridges and die without meds!

When I had mine years ago, I had a miserable night too and its almost impossible to get to sleep in a strange place with wires all over you. Part way through they did come in and offer me some kind of sleep aid which helped a little but they were worried that I hadn't gotten enough sleep w/o cpap and then with cpap to be able to diagnose. In the end I had gotten enough.

The Water issue is gonna be my kryptonite. I just do not drink a lot of anything and when I do water would probably come in last. My body has probably been severely dehydrated for YEARS. It is gonna be a killer having to drink so much of it.

Best way I have found to make coffee
MIMISAN replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@BigViffer I have never heard that about Vitamin D and my D levels are always seriously low. How come doctors don't mention this to patients if they know we drink coffee and cokes! YIKES I am now off cokes so my D may be higher already. As for coffee, we use a Kuerig at home and I have been trying to get ready for the caffeine cut off and tried the DONUT SHOP CAFFIENE FREE. It isn't bad but then I am still using Italian Cream too -
Well sometimes people say things without realizing they can mean 2 things. They may be hinting that you are really going to be a hottie and thinking they are being complimentary or cute and may not even realize they are really making you appear to be fickle. I would just say, he doesn't need to watch out for me with another man BUT he better watch those credit cards because I am going to buy me some clothes!!!!

My husband always grills it for us and I love it. Funny thing is that I would never touch the stuff until I was over 50

Any December 29th Sleevers?
MIMISAN replied to fatchick84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should have thrown your phone at your snoring husband and reminded him that he was there to support you, not drive you to distraction! ckcford, any news? Hopefully your are feeling at least a smidge better. -

Any link between weight loss and geographic tongue?
MIMISAN replied to dsart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No I just looked it up and there is a difference between geographic tongue and fissured. -
Any link between weight loss and geographic tongue?
MIMISAN replied to dsart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure if it has anything to do with weight loss or weight gain but I have the same kind of tongue. I was told it was a fissured tongue but I have always had it and you probably have too, its just that I never realized my tongue was different than most others until I was older. I have often wondered if that is why I am not a fan of very spicy food. -
I just found this post and I can absolutely see this happening to me. Right now I have a young looking smooth face because I keep it filled in nicely with fat but I have already lost 38 pounds on my required 6 month diet and I can see wrinkles already! I told my husband to hold onto his drawers because once I have the surgery on January 26th he may not recognize me anymore. I will look like a prune!
-
They are just jealous because they either don't have the means of getting the surgery or they are afraid of surgery or they don't want to give up stuffing their faces. In either case, they don't want you to succeed because that makes them recognize their own failings. The truth is that the only person you can control is you and you are doing a great job. Be happy with the happy things and try to tune out the Ugly in-laws.....and by ugly I mean personalities.

Have you tried any decaf? In preparation for having to give it up I tried some Do Nut shop decaf the other day and it was pretty good.
