Cramps around my ankles and feet
clifton81 replied to clifton81's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You read my mind! That was going to be my next question. Thanks again. As for fluids I drink almost a gallon of water a day but try not to at night. Reason being is because I constantly have to get up to pee! Haha -
Cramps around my ankles and feet

Thank you so much for the information projectme!! I appreciate the feedback guys. I guess it's hitting the potassium more for now on. Have a great one! -
I had my surgery with Dr. Alvarez in Mexico. I'd recommend more than any American doctor. Dr. Alvarez is amazing and posts so many videos on YouTube. I'd rather trust someone who has performed this surgery thousands of times than an American doc who's done it a fraction of times. I had the band and switched to Sleeve. Best decision I've ever made. It's always what I wanted, something to tell me in a hard way I've eaten too much. I'm not going to lie the the first month post op is hell! But I would do it over again because of my results. I've lost 54 lbs in 5 1/2 months and haven't even exercised. Of course every body has different body styles, genetics etc. I strongly recommend you see Dr. Alvarez website and YouTube videos.

Hey everyone! I've been sleeved since Late June and have lost already an amazing 54 lbs! So glad I made the decision to switch from my band to Gastric Sleeve. I'm curious though if anyone with sleeve has experienced waking up due to cramps around the ankle/feet area. I've never had this problem before. It's no big deal but curious if anyone knows the cause.

Any 2014 July Sleevers out there?
clifton81 replied to crazykim's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm on the same boat! I had mine late June but I've lost 50 lbs and I haven't lost in 2 1/2 weeks. I'll gain a couple pounds and then go down to 50 lbs. I still feel great though and I'm trying to figure out my body. I'm sad because I'm not motivated to work out anymore. I'm more conscious with my mobility throughout the day and make it a point to walk more and climb stairs etc. doc said I will get some plateau's along the way but will continue to lose weight. Just need to be patient. I used to lose a lot a weight then gain a TON! I have to stop being unappreciative sometimes. I could never lose 50 lbs in 4 1/2 months doing exercise and diet. So I need to step back and enjoy the process I guess. Wish you happy weight loss! -
can my band tighten up after being on a plane?
clifton81 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Everybody, I was wondering if anyone has experienced this or knows the answer to my question. Can my band swell up after coming down after a flight. Reason why I ask is because the last couple of weeks I have been doing fine with eating. After I got off the terminal I went to the restauraunt to order a soup and all of sudden I felt a pain. It was the same pain as if I swallowed a ball and it got stuck. I didn't throw up. I just burped it out. I get confused sometimes with this band. Because last night I ate great. I had salad, chicken, and mac and cheese. I may have eaten more than I should but never like I used to eat before the band. does the band maybe swell up from a big meal before? -
Hey Merced, Thank you so much for the advice. I totaly relate because I would throw up slime after a few bites and then I would go back to eating without problems. I will be careful now thanks to you. I hope I'm not too late

Hey Kat817, I know that I don't make the right choices when I eat. To correct you about the pizza deal. I can't eat a whole pizza. Maybe one slice and a half and thats it. It's just weird. If I eat a meal lets say the night before does my band swell and then carry over to the next day? Today I am only going to drink water and shakes. So far I am doing fine. Everything is going down smooth. I drink warm coffee in the morning followed by room temperature water then a shake. Maybe I just need to shake it for a few days to see how I do. I really appreciate you responding to my problem. You are a jewell

Hey guys, I want to know if there is a difference. Lots of times when I get food stuck I just slime it out until it clears. I hardly ever have to really throw up like when your reflexes take control. Is it still considered damaging when you just burp out your food. Because it doesn't hurt or anything. It's just annoying. If that does happen do I need to wait 24 hours again to eat. Because it happens often to me but I just burp out slime and go back to eating a couple of hours later until I eat normal again. Is it okay? I hope someone understands what I am trying to say. Have a great day everyone!

will be banded soon.. worried about failing
clifton81 replied to lawrencek56's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Believe me I am the junk food king! But I knew that if I didn't make a change then I would probably get bigger and bigger. I have been banded for a year and 3 months. It is challenging at times but once in a while I can eat junk food but just not splurging like I used too. You just can't. Sometimes you miss it because you see your friends take huge bites out of hamburgers or pizza. You will never be able to do that again. For me it was emotional because I missed being able to do those things. It's okay once in a while to eat junk food but if you can't see yourself accepting moderation well I would re consider this surgery. -
Hi Everyone, Hope everyone is doing well. I'm just confused. I have been banded for about a year and 3 months. I have lost about 80 lbs. I recently have hit a plateu. Its okay though because I finally got adjusted for the 3rd time since the surgery. I didn't realize that you have to adjust the band quite often to fit that sweet spot. Anyways I am miserable. One day I can eat okay and the next I can't even drink a shake. Few hours later I can eat a good size meal that same day. It is so weird. It's like I don't have control. No matter what I eat it hurts like hell. Its the worst pain. What I am trying to get at is why somedays I can eat normal and the next day can't even drink a shake. Can someone explain to me the nature of this band. It is so frustrating and want to know what should I do to fix this. When I recieved my 2nd fill the doctor tightened it so much that I couldn't even swallow my spit. I threw up all day. Well he fixed it and after the 3rd adjustment I quickly had problems again but not as bad. So I stayed on liquids and was able to eat okay but not how I need to eat. Still it's hardly anything and I starve. Then tomorrow I can eat a whole pizza. I am rambling now hopefully someone in lapband world can understand me. Love you guys clifton

I have lost 70lbs and am very happy. My problem is is that I have started a bad habbit again of eating wrong. The good thing is that I eat but I don't eat like I used to. I can't. My biggest problem is that I am constantly on the road and can't eat meals like everyone else. My job demands constant driving and making sure I get to my destinations on time. I can't slow down. It is the best thing in the world. Question one about the band after I eat a meal is ice cream considered a liquid? Reason why I ask is because of the rule about not drinking one hour and a half? Also I find myself eating more food than usual and I don't feel full. Can my band get messed up if i am eating a lot of food and not feeling pain? Last question: Every week I get an episode where I have to throw up because I am still learning about certain foods that get stuck. eggs are the worst. I have had this problem for about 2 months.
