Not trying to sound like a lush, but when can I have a glass of wine? ???? Thanksgiving is 5 weeks away and I'd love to have a 4 oz glass liquid love.

If you don't like my question don't respond. Good for you for remembering everything. Not all docs talk about every things. If they did I wouldn't have asked the question. Bye. #GetOverYourself

Go back to pre op diet for 14 days. 3 meals a day. 2 meals are a Protein shake and/or Protein Bar. 1 meal is lean protein and veggies (salad with meat). Do your waters. FOCUS. It's not worth dying over a snicker bar -

I'm good. Much better than the day's immediately following surgery. I had a very hard time with the anesthesia. Couldn't stay awake. Had to stay an extra day. Then I learned that morphine and I don't mix. The first few days I couldn't eat or drink. I wasn't getting all my Proteins or fluids. Not even close. Doing so much better now. I can take respectable size gulps of Water which is really important to me because it's the only Fluid (other than wine) that I love. Getting 60gms a day is hard, but possible. Unexpected surprise.... My period returned ????. I haven't had it in months because my IUD, but I guess it's a side effect of surgery. Starting weight: 276.5 Weight at start of pre op diet: 274.8 Surgery day weight: 264 Yesterday: 252 I'm happy with being 24.5 lbs lighter!!! -
I'm eating dangerously small amounts. Today: 6 oz milk with 1.5 scoops protein powder. 1/2 container applesauce 1 container sugar free pudding (just finished it) Only 15g protein today. Less yesterday. I can't seem to remember to eat. I'm not hungry until it hurts, but then I can't eat even then. I struggle with eating on the go. What do you eat when out running errands?

That is all. 2 weeks post op tomorrow. #finally ????

How do you "remind" yourself to eat?
J170 replied to J170's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure I agree with this. You want to get your Protein in so you don't lose muscle mass while losing weight. You might be surprised! I hated cottage cheese pre op but don't mind it at all now. Along with Peanut Butter (which I now LOVE) and a few other things!I love PB but I'm not approved to eat it yet.Confession: I've never had cottage cheese but the texture disturbs me. Texture of food can turn me off. I promised myself that I would try it before I hit 1 month post op LOL fair enough. How about ricotta? Different texture. Or laughing cow cheese? Vitamin shoppe has protein pudding. I love laughing cow. It's not on my approved foods list for this stage yet -

I rarely feel hunger. When I do 2-3 spoons of pudding or applesauce do the trick. Which, isn't enough foodEspecially because it has no protein!!! Substitute Protein rich foods or at least mix some protein powder in!! Yup. Because food feels impossible I'm just putting protein powder in all my drinks and applesauce, pudding, etc -

4 days post op - can't tolerate anything
J170 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi- I was sleeved 9/14. I can't tolerate anything. Even a small sip of Water feels like I'm drinking a gallon. Same for my liquid meds or meds that are crushed and placed in medicine cup with liquids. I'm not sure what to do, but I know at this rate I'll be dehydrated soon. I can't have Protein because after a few sips I was beyond full and uncomfortable. I'm using a soppy cup and going super slow but I can't intake more than an ounce or less before the pain kicks in. Thoughts? Btw: can't take pain meds. Discovered an allergy in the hospital. Only over the counter Tylenol, but drinking that is like eating a Thanksgiving meal. -

Anyone just been sleeved in the last week? (18th Sept today)

Sleeved the 14th. Struggling to take in any fluids -
The day has arrived. I'm schedule for 11:30am. I have to be there at 9:30. If you are a prayer warrior, please lift my name up in prayer. I'm nervous and excited. My 32nd birthday was Friday. I am so happy to have a new start at 32. Wish me well!

Going to Beth Isreal. Harvard Pilgrim didn't require a wait period. I did all my labs and testing earlier this month. Saw the NUT yesterday and have to go back in 3 weeks (8/17). That day I also see the Medical Director. After that I believe I wait to see the surgeon, then insurance approval, then schedule a date. I'm not sure if insurance approval is occurring while waiting to see the surgeon. I think I'll be sleeved late Sept/early October. Anyone else from Boston?
