Scared of ulcer because I drank green tea 1 week out from surgery
coopervane posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had a hard time drinking water. Other things go down fine, so it's my personal taste that is getting in the way. Today I was desperate and drank green tea so I could get my fluids in. I brewed it at home, no sweetener, and it is weak. My surgery was 1 week ago, I'm so scared I messed up big time and will create an ulcer. Going to get ahold of dr on Monday for their advice but wondering if anybody has been in the same situation or has any tips for me. -
Any PCOS sleevers?
coopervane replied to sassyfrass23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I to have PCOS. My sleeve date is Oct 22. -
On day 3 of my pre op surgery diet and getting meals planned ahead of time and ideas for foods I will be able to eat. The problem is, it is hard to think about the pureed foods I will be able to eat because right now anything sounds better than a Protein shake. What I wouldn't do for some low fat refried Beans or some low fat cottage cheese.

Desperate for a Buddy (10/22)
coopervane replied to acyum2008's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm nervous, excited, anxious, scared, sad, happy, you name it and I have felt it. I'm really excited to eat pureed foods at this point! I'm sleeping good now just because of the pre op diet but the night before I probably won't sleep good. At least I will have to be up by 5am and check in at 7am so it will be a quick morning. -

Pre op surgery diet is hard!
coopervane replied to coopervane's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks! I'm trying yet another kind of protein shake today. -
One thing I have found to be a lifesaver through this pre op diet is sugar free Popsicles. They have never tasted so good in my entire life.

I'm having a rough time with the shakes also. Yesterday my morning one came back up. I keep trying different ones until I find the right one. If there is such a thing. 4 more days left! We can do this!! Today I'm going to try the Premier premixed protein drinks, fingers crossed.

Need Suggestions for What to Tell People Who Ask If I've Had WLS
coopervane replied to SoCalLeslie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have thought about this also. I have my first appointment with the surgeon Aug 4 so I don't have any experience. But, I think I am going to tell most people "hard work" and my close friends about the surgery. I don't feel that would be lying. -
Waiting on approval from BCBS of IL
coopervane replied to thinner-me's topic in Insurance & Financing
How frustrating. I have BCBS IL also. When I called them to discuss my benefits the lady told me to tell my dr office to write URGENT on the approval paperwork. Not sure if it really helps or not but she said it a couple times. I am for sure going to ask my surgeons office to do that. Best of luck. -
Newbie just wanted to say Thank You all and Hi
coopervane posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have been casing this forum for a little while, checking everyday, multiple times and I want to say thank you to all because you have really helped put my mind at ease. I have my first surgeon consult on Aug 4th to start the gastric sleeve process. I have been thinking about it for a couple years and finally got up the nerve to pursue it. My final straw was when I went to Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO and rode a couple rides with my 7 year old son and I had to squeeze into them and I almost didn't fit. I was so embarrassed and all I could think about is how do I tell my son that we can't ride because I'm to big. Came home from that trip and explained to my husband what happened and that I was thinking about the sleeve surgery and he looked at me and told me he watched me struggle to get into the rides and it broke his heart so he is 100% behind me. Before I decided to get the ball rolling I watched and read this forum and you all gave me the courage to do it. Thank You!! So excited, I keep thinking about all the things I want to do when I'm at a weight I can do them. Oh, and not to even mention the clothes!! Thanks for listening, it feels good to get my reason off my chest, Jessica
