You know you lost weight when
mtraverse replied to Thomas CPA's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have had the exact same thing said to me! Too funny! Nurses are great for our egos! -
I felt exactly the same way. You do learn to love it. Sooner than later too! Good luck

Any May 26th Sleevers out there?
mtraverse replied to scoutmom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am doing great!!! Was sleeved in May 26th. Three month follow up was on Friday. The surgeon who I saw(not mine.????) told me I have lost 65% of my excess weight and he was saying I was doing good but then corrected himself and said very good. He doesn't give compliments easily, so it was a big booster and made me feel so proud of me! It def. put me into such a great mood and really revitalized my eagerness and excitement about surgery! My NUT also said I am doing great but she says that all the time. Love her! Have had a couple terrible eating days throughout this journey so far. Both directly related to period week. ( TMI) but I managed to regroup and recover from both. It is very challenging mentally to do that to myself. I need to learn so much still. I am excited I get to eat salad again, been a long time. Had one on Friday night in fact! It was Fabulous!!!! Downsides for me have really been mental. I physically feel great! People are forever complimenting me which is so sweet! My brain still needs to catch up to what I am doing! Hope you all are doing well, feeling well and losing all you expected. Btw I was 255.6 on my first visit with doctor a year ago. SW was 204.7. And CW is 165.4. 90lbs total and almost 40 since surgery! Getting closer to my goal daily/ weekly/ monthly!! -
Any May 26th Sleevers out there?
mtraverse replied to scoutmom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think 47lbs is great!!! Just keep at it!!! That's only 3 months! So if you lose 47lbs in the next three months you will be on 30 lbs from your goal!!! That's a quick amount of time to lose so much! Look how quick this last three months went!! I think you are doing great, sorry about your slow weeks though, that can be such a mental buster!!! -

Protein, water vs calorie intake.
mtraverse replied to Pinkpeonies1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 months out and do 2 shakes most days. I also eat a lot of Greek yogurt. Sometimes I will add unflavored protein powder to up the protein intake. It's a good way to add 15gms easily. I like the pure protein shakes that are already made. They taste great and you get 30gms protein in 160cals -

Why is is easier after surgery?
mtraverse replied to Leesa926's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am only 3 months out and I have to say that some days the surgery makes it easier but really No I don't think so! It is a daily struggle to choose the right things and do the right things. Life long challenge for sure but I will say that filling up sooner is something I am very grateful for and have zero regrets about getting my sleeve! -
Super excited for you! Love the professional photo, you look beautiful! Keep up your great work! I aspire to be in the same boat a year from now!!! ????

I just mix the protein shake, hot coffee, ice and whatever flavor I am feeling of the Torani sf syrup! Looooove it!!! Makes me full and keeps me happy! Oh yeah and damn we are creative! -
Can I have regular coffee?
mtraverse replied to avRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink it at least once a day with a pure protein shake and sf Torani syrup mixed in! It's delicious! Like a fancy coffee from Dutch Brothers! Plus I get 30gms of protein in each one! My NUT ok'd it for me! I have two on my weekends! Oops just realized I already posted this comment! I guess I am really excited about it! -

May Sleevers, How much?
mtraverse replied to Jessica Radcliff's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My goal is anywhere from 135-145. I had my 3 month visit today and the surgeon and nutritionist were very happy with my results of 65% of my excess weight lost! He is not a surgeon who gives out compliments easily so it was a real compliment and booster for me. Makes me want to try so hard and stay 100% committed to this journey. Down 37lbs since May26th! BMI down 4 points, fat percent is down 5%. I love seeing the down trend. Hope my next visit in 3 months can put me at a healthy weight BMI. As it is now I am still obese! Had a positive day though, ate my first salad in 2.5 months after I got the ok. Sat pretty well. I loved it, wish it had more chicken though, not sure it was high enough in protein! -
Did not know this! Great information

I know it is a lot of PMS and emotional eating but right from the gate this morning I started eating crappy food filled with sugar. Even though it didn't make me feel good I could not stop all day! I still had my meals and my two protein shakes but could not stop with the sweets! This happened last month too! I need to stop doing this one day a month!!! Determined however to eat only healthy and on plan tomorrow! I have my 3 month check up on Friday and had wanted to be at my lowest but after today I am sure I will be up a pound or two. I tracked on my fitness pal and it was a total of 1250 roughly. Normally I am around 700 on my normal days. Very frustrated with myself!

???????????? Fustration????????????
mtraverse replied to Jasmine Smith's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
They have about covered it!! Ditto! -
My NUT and I discussed it on my last appointment before surgery. She asked me what I thought would be a good weight for me which I think is around 140. She said my goal weight then could/should be between 135-145. Staying where I am comfortable without being too hard to maintain!

Thank you! Feeling pretty good! Got a ways to go but I am getting there! -
Mrssugarbabe- it's a challenge everyday. Great job on the accountability. We have to be honest with ourselves to make any ground! Great job with the continued perseverance! Thank you. It's terrible to feel this way. ????

Djmohr- thanks for your empathy! What are we to do on days like that but struggle with ourselves and the temptations that our bodies love! Take it one day at a time and let's try not to beat ourselves up too much. I have been a model sleeves today, so weakness lead to strength! We just keep going and hope the next time we are tempted we have and learn more control! Thank you! Glad I am not the only one who did this yesterday! Elode- I have yet to get those Atkin shakes, been meaning to but they are so pricy and I'm cheap! Keep waiting for a sale! I will continue to wait for them!
-
Jane13- I was at work most of the day and tried to keep busy but kept thinking about it still! Obsessed! Thank you! JustWatchMe- I have never done that, something I will keep in mind when I find myself doing this again!
-
Outsidematchinside- I didn't even think of quest bars! Great idea. Thank you! I just bought a box of them too!
