    I am so tired

I had surgery 10/26 and I am so tired. I went back to work yesterday and I was fine. Then today I was exhausted halfway through the day. I had to take a half day. I am not energized enough to get my homework done either. I am just so lethargic. I quit caffeine the day of surgery. I have been hitting my fluid goal and getting about 60 gm of protein. Has anyone had this? When does it go away?
  3. I just had surgery yesterday and I am bloated and feeling so full. When does this subside? I am so gassy but none of the walking or anything is helping. Suggestions?
  4. Hey Everyone! My surgery is coming up in 10 days and I am super excited! My surgeon doesn't require a preop diet but I am starting to get really nervous that I am not doing it right. The surgeon told me to just not gain any weight which I haven't, but I also have not made many big changes yet. I am scared that because Inhavent already made these simple changes that means I won't be very successful with the surgery. I started planning this in June and at that time I was able to quit smoking, quit soda, and quit caffeine. I went back on all of it. Now I have quit smoking again but it has only been a week. I am limiting my soda but I know I'll have to quit and I'm drinking my coffee with fat free and sugar free creamer. But then yesterday I ate fast food for three meals. I just don't know if I am going to be successful if this is what I am doing 10 days prior. Thoughts? Suggestions?

    Pre-Op Workout

I'm trying to get into the swing of things before having my surgery, which if course includes working out. I joined a gym and met with a personal trainer who emphasized strength training, but I also hear that cardio is more important. I seem to be getting conflicting information and I just don't know where to start. Especially with strength training, I can't afford the personal trainer and I don't want to get hurt. Suggestions?

    United Healthcare - Just Beginning

That sounds EXACTLY like what I was told too. Although I do have the psych eval and 2 year weight history. I have met my out of pocket too and I am trying for August. Keep me updated on how long the approval takes? Thanks!

    Worries...

So, I am in the process of meeting all of my insurance requirements, which turned out to be pretty relaxed considering what some have to go through. I have to enroll in the Bariatric Resource Center (done), get a Nutrition Consult (done), have a psych eval (scheduled for next Monday), get my medical testing and blood work (done, just waiting on follow up for clearance, on July 6th), get 2yr weight history (just a form for the Doctor to sign, July 6th), and that is it. So it looks like I'll be submitting the week of the 6th! I am starting to worry though. What if I graze? What if I can't keep up the diet? What if I go through all of this and don't lose any weight? Food has been my best friend for a long time? What happens when I don't have that any more?
  13. Hi! I am really excited to start this journey and I was really happy to stumble across this website. I recently attended a weight loss surgery seminar, and I am really excited to get started. I (like a LOT of people) am extremely worried that I won't get approved through my insurance. Does anyone have experience with United Healthcare? Are they pretty easy to get approved through? My plan says I need complete a supervised diet and exercise program through the surgery team, but it doesn't say for how long. I'm trying to get this done this year, since my husband and I have met our out of pocket max, and everything will be covered at 100% now. Surgery included (I checked). I am worried that if I have to do the 6 month diet, I won't get a surgery date in time for it to be covered at 100%. Advice, suggestions, experience, strength, and hope?
