My surgeon didn't take it out during WLS but I went back in a few months later. They had found stones but it wasn't a real issue but my surgeon did say I could have issues later on especially when I decide to have children. Since I met my maximum out of pocket and the gallbladder removal wouldn't cost I think I told her to remove it. I had WLS in May and I had my gallbladder removed in September.

I did a bad bad thing
stefanie324 replied to Tbeek's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We all have bad days. The best thing you can do is move on and remember it was only a day. Plus, think about what you just said. It was about 2.5 OZ. OUNCES. If you didn't have this surgery you probably would have eaten so much more. So you may FEEL depressed and maybe the scale will go up for a day but you will bounce back. Just don't continue to eat bad things. It's only failure if you don't get up and try again. YOU GOT THIS! -
Band to sleeve!
stefanie324 replied to crazy cute's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I went from band to sleeve. I know one minute I can feel like I could eat an entire pizza (just an example of hunger level) and then I sit down to eat, have one bite of something, and then I'm like ughh I'm full. And then 20 minutes later I'll be like okay I'm hungry again. lol. My family has learned to not touch my plate at dinner because I'll reheat it later on when I'm hungry again. I wasn't great with the Protein shakes and YES I lost hair. I actually cut my hair because of it but honestly, I needed it anyway from years of changing my color (indecisive) so now I am waiting for it to grow back. I remember when I got it cut the girl washing it was shocked at how much came out. She said she never saw someone lose so much hair. I knew it was my fault. So DEFINITELY get that protein in. -
360+ pounds?!? help!
stefanie324 replied to allyrenee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Day of sleeve surgery I was 330lbs. That was on 5/4/2015. I am not down to 254 so about 76lbs down in almost 8 months. I had the band first and had sever acid reflux. I now have the sleeve and have no reflux and love it so much more than the band. I know someone whom has the bypass and they did great with weight loss. I think it is all up to the person and how hard you work at it. I am sure I could have done a lot better than 76lbs but I try to be happy with my results so far! Good luck in whichever you choose! -
Hey Courtney! I'm 28 and I had the sleeve on 5/4/15. I have lost 46lbs so far. Congrats on your weight loss!!

Repeatedly overeating
stefanie324 replied to NoBsVs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
nobsvs you're so right! I say it all the time even healthy food like produce is more expensive than processed food. Things really need to change in this world. prettygal27 Everything else I will reheat and sometimes my family look at me bc I'll eat the same thing for Breakfast lunch and dinner. For instance scrambled eggs. My thing is making it simple for me and that's the easiest. Or I'll make ground chicken and reheat it when I want some and add some bruschetta to make it moist. -

PrettyGal27 I'm iffy when it comes to fish and heating it the next day. chicken okay but the fish I will usually only have that night which is why it would be nice if they had smaller "adult meal" portions. -
Repeatedly overeating

I am 5 weeks post op and I sometimes find myself eating more than I should. It's weird because part of me will sit there and be so thankful I'm eating a lot less than I used to and then the other part of me is feeling guilty because I think I ate too much. My biggest issue is the Protein Drinks. I basically stopped doing them. I only lost 2lbs in the past two weeks so I am thinking I may have to start having them again. My doctor said right now the Protein Shakes are the nutrition. The food is only so I don't feel like I'm going crazy from not eating. I have tried a lot of food that I shouldn't try yet because I really thought I was passed the leaking point but I found out on Friday that I am not ????. Of course I now worry about leakage and wonder if I did any damage but I am hoping for the best. I definitely need to start meal prepping and measure and only stick to that specific amount. Another thing I find is if you do go out to eat the waiter/waitress always think you didn't like your food bc "you barely touched it". I know places have a kids menu but that is usually filled with burgers, grilled cheese, spaghetti, or Mac and cheese. I wish restaurants had something on their menu for people who are "not so hungry" lol. I would love to order a smaller portion of a fish meal and not have to spend $16.
