    Rant from a single woman!

I don't have a chip on my shoulder, but I do find it interesting how people respond to people of size. I do agree with other posts that we want what we want, etc., I just wanted to know how others feel and respond to society treating them different. I truly appreciate all the comments from everyone here!

Great video! Thanks for sharing! I'm glad that I'm not the only one to think/feel this way!
  3. Oh no! Well, just think, you will be one more week prepared! good luck! Keep the failth!
  4. Good luck! I'm rooting for you from over here. I haven't been the best diabetic patient recently so I'm really worried what they will say! Hope all goes well for you! No wedding food but just think how fab you are going to feel after! You got this girl!
  5. I had my psych eval today. If that doesn't make you crazy, I don't know what will! I know its needed, but it just seemed a little much for the surgery. Anyway, next is my appointments for the blood work, ekg and clearance from my PCP. I'm worried that, because I have type 1 diabetes, my A1C may come back high and then they will postpone the WLS. So, if y'all can send some prayers, good vibes, positive thoughts, etc. this way for the 27th, it would greatly appreciated! Here's to (with fingers crossed) I stay on track with surgery August 26th!
  6. GREAT JOB! Its always nice when some of our fears/concerns are put to rest. I'm about 7 weeks out and struggling to cut the drinking while eating. Ahhh, I'm so afraid I'm going to hurt myself because its such natural response. Oh well, it will only happen once if I do the things I'm not suppose to. Keep up the good work!

    Vitamins

Hi guys & gals, So, in preparation of my August surgery date, I'm trying to get everything I will need post op. I've got my multi-Vitamin (Flintstones chewable-because who doesn't want to be a kid again ) , my Protein for shakes, a chewable b-12, but I'm stuck on a good Calcium citrate. Does anyone have any suggestions? I currently take a gummy calcium, but I'm told we cant take the gummy ones. Just trying to be as prepared as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  8. Who was your cousins doctor? If you don't mind me asking.
  9. Sleevenchica, I'm having my done in Reston. You?
  10. Norther Virginia! I have two more pre-op meeting with the dietician, but everything seems to be moving along fine. I keep expecting a speed bump but nothing yet. I'm nervous right but ready to get this over with and start living!
  11. Aug. 26th here!! Best of luck!
  12. Try changing the type of Protein shake you are using. I find that if I use soy protein I have the same problems. whey powders work better for me. Just a suggestions. Hope you find something that works for you.
  13. Are there any post-op patients here that have used Nutrilite® Double X® Vitamin/ Mineral/ Phytonutrient? I currently take it, but I'm unsure if its an acceptable vitamin/supplement for post surgery. Any info would be helpful.
  14. I'm looking for anyone that may have type 1 diabetes and have had, or going to have, gastric bypass. What to expect with the need of insulin. What happens if you have a low blood sugar (especially before foods are reintroduced). Any information would be greatly appreciated.
  15. What about the pre surgery diet? Did you have to do the liquid diet? Suggestions on Protein shakes that are low in sugar? Another question...are you in the pump? Do you have a local endo? I'm not happy with mine but can't get anyone to recommend a good endo. My BS said they may take me off the pump before and during surgery but I'm not even sure where to begin with all that... (I may be stressing a little????)
